Ferienwohnungen "Altes Bachhaus"

The location is great. It is walking distance to everything in Eisenach and the (probable) birth home of Johann Sebastian Bach is across the street. We really enjoyed the museum. The place is clean, and the host is very welcoming.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the building, it is probably impossible to improve the sound isolation between the floors. I suppose it is a protected building, and the building code prevents changes of the house substance. It is therefore the way it was probably for centuries. It will be a treat for those who like historical buildings.

The location was perfect as I was working in the Bachaus. The place was impeccably clean and although far from luxurious it had everything you needed. It was very quiet with a beautiful view from the Bachaus nearby. I had mistakenly booked for only one person but someone came specially on his day off to deliver both clothes and towels. To live in the house of Bach’s father was a huge thrill!

The Internet did not work very well… In fact it only worked in the kitchen and even then cut out quite regularly.

Excellent location for sight seeing in Eisenach. The room was clean and spacious, all that was needed for a couple of days in the town. The staff were nice people too. A supermarket and bus stop, and the Bach house are all nearby, as are restaurants.

There was no wifi at all, different from what the booking indicates. You need to phone on arrival too, which is not always convenient for people travelling abroad especially without wifi at the property. Also, small things like soap and shampoo were nowhere to be seen, which felt a little stingy as we had to buy ourselves. A lot of stairs and no lift, so beware if you have a lot of luggage. The checkout time is 10am, but we had the cleaner suddenly trying to open the room door (we left the keys in thankfully) about 9, which made us feel rushed despite not out of bed...

The wifi was very poor, only accessible in the kitchen, and very slow. For collecting the keys, you need to call the owners. This was fine for us, as we can speak German - however, guests who cannot will need to ensure they've made arrangements in advance.
