Wernigerode - Die bunte Stadt am HARZ

The sloped roof on the attic apartment caused us to bang our heads to the roof at many places. Fortunately, it's a soft wall and the impact isn't much.

The property is well located, about a ten minute walk from the train station, and just on the edge of the main shopping street. The nearest supermarket is around a ten minute walk, and there's a bakery around five minutes away. Although small, the property is a good option for a family with young children. They have a potty training seat for the toilet, and a separate low shower as well. They provide a good range of toys, card games and board games. It was very quiet at night, even at our son's earlier bedtime. The kitchen is adequate for simple meals, two electric burners, a small toaster oven, a kettle, and a filter coffee maker. Don't count on baking anything as large as a pizza or premade lasagna, but you can certainly reheat pastries for breakfast, and can easily make simple one dish meals like pasta or rice with vegetables. Basic supplies like salt, pepper, a few spices, coffee filters, dishwashing liquid, and trash bags are provided.

The ceiling is low, and there are exposed beams. There are also a few differences in the height of the floor between sections of the room. Give yourself time to get used to the place before moving around quickly.

Perfect apartment for short stay. Plus u can see the castle from the living room, bedroom and kitchen!

Good location, 30mins drive to schierke, close to the town centre. Very cozy, has everything you need, feel like home.

Not suitable for tall people, easily to hit your head due to its structure. The heating in bedroom and bathroom doesn’t work well.

The location was great and near to the town centre. Hosts offered the use of the garage to park the car, which was very welcome. It is a cosy little flat, which has everything provided. The beds were comfortable. We could have used the garden if we wanted.

The weather was very hot and despite blinds/curtains on 3/5 windows, it was impossible to keep the temperature inside the flat bearable, however this may only be an issue on for a few days of the year. There was a fan provided in the flat.
