Down-Town-Oasis

Property was lovely with a beautiful terrace garden, host was amazing with lots of info and personal, welcoming touches.

It’s unremarkable from the outside - but that just makes it all the better once you’re in.

Close to train station, really lovely apartment, nice equiped, has a small garden where you could relax. We had problems reaching to Dusseldorf due to missing flight and sVenia, the host, helped us having a checkin at 02:30 in the morning. Extremely nice host, prepared everything for us, including some beverages in the fridge.

Very nice and attentive hostess, met us at the check-in and explained everything very well. Good location, very clean and all amenities you might need.

A little bit outdated

It's a nice, cosy, and comfortable place! Exactly what we needed for our stay. We just needed a place to sleep and have the possibility to store goods in the fridge, have some breakfast and shower :) Also, host sVenia was really kind to us explaining everything in the apartment, which we really appriciated! Thank you so much for everything!

- It took me some time to figure out how to regulate the shower! Just 1mm shift to the left side and the water was boiling hot! But I understood that I needed to adjust the setting of the boiler in the shower. - the double bed has two 1-person bedding, but I prefer a 2-person bedding (at home I'm atleast used to that).

Nice homely feel. Warm rooms. Nicely decorated. Got what you need for a couple of nights. Property owner goes out of her way to greet you at your arrival time and is on call if you need anything. Also does a phone call to see what time you want to check out. My guitar ended up being damaged on my travels. She kindly dropped off some tape at the door.

Bedroom is close to the front of the apartment building and the building entrance door makes quite a noise. Water is either hot or cold. Takes a bit of precision to get the right temperature.

Not much, the location is OK and the door works so you can get out. And the bed is OK.

What a weird experience. The apartment is livable at best, but very dated and in need of modernisation. Beware, the host isn't right. She welcomed us nicely, but after we left accused us of breaking the dishwasher and hiding the screws off the door. We didn't even know that there was a dishwasher, and if we had known we wouldn't have used it because the kitchen was older than my mum, who's in her 80's. We were out all day at a trade show and ate out. We only used 2 cups to make coffee, and we washed these in the sink which was also unpleasant. On the last morning the kitchen light bulb blew at 7.00 in the morning and she also had the cheek to accusse us of breaking the electrics. Anyway, I've got better things to do, but to avoid being asked to pay for things that you didn't use or break, I'd suggest avoiding this place. It's a house/host of horrors.

tricky to get stable temperature for shower.

Very cosy place with all you need for a short trip very central in Düsseldorf. Will be happy to return. Good luck to Svenia and thank you for your hospitality!

1. Decoration: really one of my favorite parts during my stay. There are a lot of nice paintings, small craft items and plants in the apartment which is very homey and welcoming! And there’s a well maintained garden outside the living room! 2. Location: 12min walk from the central station. There are shops and restaurants nearby as well. 3. Refreshments: there are different kinds of refreshments in the fridge, and things like cookies, chocolate, tea, coffee and etc. We really appreciated it! 4. Utilities: full kitchen with functioning microwave, dishwasher, cookers. Heating is nice and also very good hot water enough for shower or a nice bath! 5. Communication: the land lady is very fast and clear in communication. She is always on time and gave us a nice walk-through of the apartment. 6. Comfort: the bed is very big and comfortable. There are shades blocking the sunshine outside as well in case we want to sleep in.

We enjoyed everything! If we really have to pick something, maybe the pillows could have been better. Currently the pillows are too soft and flat. :)

Spacey apartment, equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay for 2 people. Great location, in a quiet side-street, just 1 stop by S-Bahn (station around the corner) from the main railway station (Hbf). A couple of nice restaurants within walking distance, grocery shops around. The tiny, little garden is a beautiful addition to what already is a comfortable flat. I am sure if we came in the spring or summer, we would have enjoyed the garden a lot more. Last but not least: friendly and welcoming owner who goes the extra mile to make your stay comfortable.

Nothing to do with the flat or the owner but: if you are coming by car, be prepared that you are in the middle of a bustling city. There is nowhere to park and if you finally find any space, the costs are high. In addition, there are some construction / renovation works going on in the building on the opposite side of the road (as of March'23). The builders start early, sometimes before 7AM and a lot of the work they do is noisy so if you fancy sleeping a little longer, I suggest you take some in-ear noise stoppers with you.
