Sunny Luxor

It was really close to the Nile and the ferry. Really good location.

Sometimes it was some loud music in the neighborhood

As a digital nomad, I stay in a lot of places, and I can honestly say I had one of the warmest welcomes and one of the best weeks at this property in two years on the road! Sunny the owner / manager is one of the nicest guys you will meet in life and cannot do enough for you. He even took me to his barber’s in the Nubian village! The room I stayed in was enormous and had the most amazing view of the Nile. The position of the house is on the quiet, west bank, next door to some very relaxed, great value bars and restaurants. The public ferry over to the east bank is a short walk away and is ridiculously cheap and frequent, or if you’re feeling lazy you can easily pick up and motor boat across for around US$1 (the public ferry is around $0.20). I cannot recommend this place enough!

Internet access is always an issue in Egypt so it’s not really a negative about the property itself, but the wifi didn’t reach my room so I had to work in the hallway downstairs. But that meant I got to spend more time chatting to lovely Sunny and meet all the other friendly guests / residents.

The apartment was clean and had a very nice view of the nile. It tends to get hot but it’s okay because you have got AC. The bed was comfortable and it could sleep two adults and a baby! There is a fridge, stove and a water heater. And there is even a shared washer for your clothes at the ground floor.The place is around 5-10 mins easy walk to the public ferry and there is a supermarket nearby owned by an honest guy.

Not much to be honest.

The hotel is very well located. We lived in rom5, amazing Nile view. The host of Sunny hotel is a friendly, helped with excursions.

Everything was perfect.

This hostel is very well located, is spacious and has some cooking facility, and a washing machines , all of which is appreciated.

The biggest problem is the dogs barking at night. The building has little or no sound proof. That is really a problem for tired travellers. In addition, the driver ("Atif") who was supposed to pick us up did not answer our phone calls when we arrive at the airport on the first night. As a result we had to wait a good 40 minutes before he finally showed up.

great location on Nile shore, supermarket close by, very comfortable rooms, loved the beautifull pots in forecourt area, great views from our balcony area, the host of Sunny Luxor is a freindly nice fella with no pressure or hard sell. All in all relaxing place to hang out.
