Papaya Cottage Punta del Hidalgo La Azócar

The best place for staying if u are looking for the closest place to the ocean and hiking trails. The apartment is really comfy and chill. The host is a very kind woman. Helped me to make a plan for every day of my stay. It's a little bit more windy area. However, the amount of fresh air is just huge. Having lunch and breakfast in this beautiful garden was one of my favorite things during my vacation. The only problem for me was lack of good restorans (not much into seefood) and grocery stories with bigger assortment.

Accomodation is really good. You will find there everything you will need and its super clean.

The only negative is its a bit far away from everything. Its good for people who will like to have peace but for someone who wants to take a walk and meet some new people its just not the right place to stay.

We particularly appreciated their knowledge and recommendations about everything related to local nature, local ecosystems and places to visit that were not so close to their property.

Everything was perfect in the property, really! But... while searching for places to walk, in two opportunities we couldn't find a place to leave the car and we were veeeery surprised. We should have gone there before tourists arrive...

Room gets a bit warm and access to the propriety is a bit complicated through several side streets - but you do get detailed explanations, and it is doable by car

I think this is the one of the best places in Hidalgo. Beautiful garden and house. there is a place to sit outside and relax. very quiet. place is 10/10. however the owners are very kind and helpful. Victor is working in Anaga park. so you can go here without any plan and they will recommend you awesome trails :) also we receive welcome “snacks” in form of local bananas and papaya. coffe, tea, water. this small detail was very nice. you feel really welcome here :) if I will be going to hildago again in future then only there. to papaya cottage. I give overall rating 11/10. owners are awesome :)

The disadvantage for some people can be localisation. it’s next to some banana plantations. for me it wasn’t a big problem. because for me was important to be close to mountain trails. also inside the property you don’t see much of those plantations. because there is nice red wall around. generally most of hidalgo have those plantations.

beautiful brand new apartment with the most welcoming hosts ever. super clean, care for the details, fresh fruit and water, nice location. perfect if you don’t like chaotic and touristic places.

The hosts were so thoughtful, helpful and informative and anticipated everything we might need to make our stay enjoyable. There was a lovely welcoming basket of fresh fruit, tea and coffee. The apartment was comfortably laid out with everything a guest could need. The garden is carefully planted and frequented by small songbirds and butterflies. A wonderful place to relax and unwind. Locally, there is a picturesque coastal walk and some great local restaurants, some with a magical view of the setting sun over the sea. Wonderful.
