GBWe were met by Elena who showed us around and gave us keys and information. She was very friendly and waited while the taxi found the complex. The bungalow had been refurbished in part since booking so the bathroom and bedroom for example were much cleaner and modern looking than the initial pictures. The beds were incredibly comfortable with mattress toppers and there was a large wardrobe to pack away clothes. The bathroom, as i say, was modern with the usual shower, sink, toilet but also a handy washing machine. It wasn't cramped in the bathroom as can be sometimes in smaller accommodations. There is an average size kitchen/lounge with large patio doors, however these were broken (see negs). Lovely, colourful garden which is a suntrap all day long (we were here in June 23) with a hammock (so relaxing) and sun loungers. If you love sunbathing privately then you will love this bungalow as its garden is not overlooked and completely surrounded by high bushes. The complex itself was very quiet with two pools that we saw (maybe more i don't know) and a friendly bar. The two girls running it were so friendly and happy to help improve your Spanish. Lastly, the location is perfect for Yumbo being about 2 minutes walk down the road for eating and tons of bars etc and yet the bungalow was so peaceful at night.
The inner doors to the patio area were broken so we only had the flimsier outer doors to lock. Although we were assured the complex was secure (and it definitely felt like it) it was still a concern, especially as I've seen reviews mentioning this issue already. There was refurb work going on next door from 7.30 am some mornings but 8am every morning until after 5pm. I don't mean the occasional knocking but full on knocking down of rubble, cement mixing and brickworking. Not a lot we could do about it but would have been nice to know in advance. Im not sure how much more they need to do but might be worth asking the owner to find out so you can take earplugs at least.
