Casitas Tenerife - El Risco 1

Great location. Within walking distance of many beaches, restaurants, and grocery stores. The apartment has a good amount of space. The terrace has a nice breeze and overlooks the ocean.

Upon arrival, the hosts were notified of a few important items immediately 1. No handsoap 2. Broken hook in bathroom - no place to put your bath towel 3. Shower that floods the house whenever used due to a mostly blocked drain. An immediate promise was made to attend to the first 2 items by the next morning. A mere statement that "people leave sand in the shower" was the response to the third. Hand soap showed up 4 days later, and the hook was never fixed. Needless to say, we tried to prevent flooding the house by taking extremely short showers and attempting to mop up water using the bath rug each day. An unpleasant and dirty daily chore which will undoubtedly lead to mold problems if prolonged. In all vacation rentals I've utilized, a bare minimum besides hand soap, of course, is the expectation that along with fresh towels there will be shampoo and conditioner. There was none. Also, while not obligatory, it is common to at least have basics like salt & pepper, maybe a few other kitchen essentials. In fact the property did not even have a simple cutting board, which predictably meant we had horribly blunt knives which were useless as everyone prior to us dulled them cutting on plates undoubtedly. Now I'm not expecting expensive knives sharpened between stays, but even cheap IKEA knives go long way with a simple wooden cutting board. The cheap frying pan had a loose handle ready to fly off, which needed a few seconds to tighten. The real problem being that the non stick coating on it was bady damaged enough to make me hesitate to use it altogether. The apartment as a whole is quite stuffy (in late Aug anyway) . I opened the bedroom windows at night for a cool breeze, but the tradeoff is putting up with the noise from the bars below till 2-3am daily. The living room furniture is quite well worn with fading and peeling paint.

Location is great, nice apartment with most of the amenities you may need. The host was willing to assist us in case of any requirement.

It's feel hot during night and the fans do not cool the room at night.

Perfect location, large apartment with all comforts, perfect for large families, very nice view from terrace. Highly recommended.

The aparts are clean and great located! 1st line, on the street with all the main restaurants. 2 big rooms with comfortable beds. There are all the kitchen staff to prepare food. The staff are so nice, she recommends us all the great locations and was so kind to let us late check out.

The only issue- is a taxi stop under the windows: drunk tourists are waiting for a taxi there every night and their laughing and singing are too loud ;(

First time for two of us to Tenerife. The location was great, close to two beaches, shops and restaurants and port of Los Cristianos. The apartment was very nicely furnished and beds were comfy.

The apartment is located over three shops, two were not a problem. One was a bakery which opened at 6am, but there was a taxi rank directly outside and when it was quite the taxi men meet up in the bakery after their shift, sometimes as early as 4.30am and talking very loudly. One in particular shouted over the others the entire time. Football match loud. This went on until nearly 8am when they went home. When they left it was fine. So bad was the noise we recorded the shouting. We had our windows closed and it felt they were in the bedroom with us. Also there is no air conditioning only ceiling fans, which were fine for Feb. We said it to the agent and she said Los Cristianos is a lively resort and is noisy at times, but would have a word with them. If she did it made no difference. We also asked the bakery staff if they could keep talking down. So if you like your SLEEP do not book this apartment. Also some of the electric sockets in the kitchen need attention. One completely hanging off and one getting loose. There was also the use of a washing machine which was a top loader and none of us had used before. We asked how it works, the agent did no know, nor was there any instructions/info folder in the apartment of Do's and Don'ts which is quite common. The washing machine drum got stuck and we could not get our clothes out. We rang the agent, sent a txt and photo, she replied she would call by. We heard nothing back from her re the washing machine and left without getting clothes out. Bookings sent an email on return home asking for 60 euro to repair the washing machine we had broken. A deposit of 100 euro cash was stated in the booking but was declined when offered by the agent when checking in. Not our problem.

The roof terrace and the location. Paty, the host was lovely.

No window in the living/dining room, only roof lights. Electrics, especially in the kitchen very poor. Very poor shower that couldn’t be used as intended due to broken attachment, and shower screen not suitable as flooded bathroom more than once…
