Castillo Mar Superior

Well equipped kitchen. The 1st floor terrace. The pool was well maintained but the water was on the cold side.

Tv did not work. Washing machine did not work. The small shower head was unable to be fixed in one position. Shower tray sealant was poorly applied & had black mould.The safe was inaccessible on the floor between drawer units at the back of wardrobe. Kitchen clock did not work. Spot light over hob unit did not work. Light bulb gone in bathroom. Lack of towels & poor quality bedding. We had great expectations from a "Superior " duplex which didn't live up the description. We mentioned all these problems while we were there. The response was we could have 20% of a future holiday provided we didn't leave a negative review. We asked for 20% off our existing booking, we were offered a 10% refund. We can't be bought off so cheaply. The sad thing is it would not cost a great deal to turn the property around for people to enjoy staying there.

The location was great, the apartment had plenty of outside space as well as the pool area if I was feeling socialable. I loved the upstairs balcony, private and had the sun until about 3 then the back courtyard was a suntrap after that. The property wasn’t really modern but it still met my needs. It was clean and had everything I needed , I would definately return because it was so peaceful and convenient for the town.

Pool could be warmer but that’s not the owners fault and most pools in Caleta are on the chilly side.

Location was very good, close to beach and shops/restaurants. Communication was very good with host. Met at property within five minutes of us arriving. On street parking, no problems parking up. Pool on site with sunbeds. Water in fridge on arrival.

Cleanliness, could have been better. Unable to flush toilet paper in downstairs toilet ( bin only ) Furniture in need of update, very worn. Pool bar closed, looked like it had not been used for years. View from patio was a wall & not private due to being next to the main in and out gate for occupants. Reception not manned , again old and tired. Toilet seat would not stay up in upstairs toilet. Stairs maybe not good for elderly, steep.

Would of been better communication on arrival as she didn’t speak any English and I don’t speak Spanish and messages about arrival meet didn’t come through to phone until we were at complex so a bit off trouble finding how to get in as no reception

Thank you Pamela and Isaac, the duplex was great value for money with comfortable accommodation, in a complex that's clean and tidy. There's a great pool area with plenty of room for sun bathers, and the complex is in an ideal location, close to all amenities, bars and restaurants, and to the sea !
