Apartamento Francesc Samsó, Girona

The apartment was great, clean and well equipped. The elevator opened up right into the apartment. Location was right in the old town.

There was only one bathroom. (But we knew that when we booked) Check-in was at a different location and the free parking was not available at the time of our stay (an annual fair was going on) so parking nearby was expensive ($40 per night).

Perfect location for an easy stroll into town.

The fans didn’t work so well, so it was a little hot.

The location was perfect and the views amazing.

No air conditioning

The apartment was very ideally located near the Cathedral of Girona. It is spacious and we were able to utilize the amenities as described. It was important that we had access to a washing machine, and the one at the apartment worked perfectly. The bedrooms were spacious and it was nice to open the windows to let the breeze in. We enjoyed having multiple mokapot pitchers, as we are big coffee drinkers. The offices were also very communicative and gave us tips on staying safe during our stay.

The RIMARENT offices were quite difficult to find (no floor/suite number provided). But once there, the agents were very nice, despite being unsure which apartment I had booked; I was told that two of the apartments look very similar. We were also unaware that we would not be able to drive into the street because of the special barriers only for Barri Gotic residents, but we found street parking not too far away. When we got to the apartment, I realized that I was given a different apartment based on the layout, amenities and pictures but it was too cumbersome to return to the offices to try to exchange the apartment. The elevator did not work using the key from floor 0, but we made due by going upstairs and calling it down so we can bring our luggage.

Check in process was longwinded. Didn’t manage to do digital check-in so had to drive to a different location to complete forms and pick up key to apartment.

The location is good.

We had several inconveniences with our stay in this apartment. When I picked up the keys, I asked for more than one set of keys. They were to be delivered the next day. However I had to ask for them several times before they were delivered. Being 5 people and one set of keys is very inconvenient. 15 minutes after I arrived in the apartment, I noticed that the Wi-Fi was not working. This was huge a problem as these old buildings have close to no cell-service. (We had to hang out of the window to receive text messages.) I notified Rimarent about this immediately. To make a very long, inconvenient and annoying story short: we never got any internet in that apartment. Every day there was another half-assed attempt of “have you tried tuning it on and off again” "Ill call the company again". They said they were going to try to get us a wireless modem, but that never arrived either. We were unable to contact our babysitters, our children, or follow up on work meetings that were planned. The whole reason of having a flat instead of a hotel room is so you have the convenience of a social zone. Due to the connectivity issue made this flat was a total nightmare to be tied to. I will never use Rimarent again. After almost a week of unsolved issues Rimarent said they would come by on the second last day so we could discuss a discount since we were very dissatisfied with lack of the promised amenities. You probably guessed it already? They never showed up. Stay away from this company. Take a hotel room instead. It will save you so much hassel.
