Casa Reyes Fataga

Beautiful, authentic old village. The host is very kind and gave us lots of self grown oranges and lemons. The apartment was very well equipped and comfortable. I hope I can return some day.

Really nice apartment with wonderful views and a balcony. Very large rooms with loads of storage, sat and watched the changing light on the hills at dawn and dusk. One of the highest buildings in this small village. Easy to park outside, Interesting shutter system on the windows which meant that rain could be kept out but air still came through. Water and large bowl of fruit (from the garden) were supplied. All cleaning equipment, lots of towels etc., Communication via WhatsApp and David put in information on places to visit

David and his mother were around quite often to look after the garden, but had no English and we had no Spanish, didn't prevent very long one-sided conversations! If other apartments are busy then there is quite a lot of noise from the stairwell. Access to parking sometimes blocked by coaches but once found the drivers moved them. In November the village basically shut at 5.00 when the day visitors went back to the coast. We weren't cooking, so ended up buying rolls to eat each evening. TV had various channels but only news in English.

I loved its location although difficult to get to and fro without a car. The host was extremely helpful and always available. We loved the free oranges and lemons from his orchard. Everything was clean to a very high standard.

The infrequent buses that came to the village. Taxis were very expensive.

Location (Fataga) is fantastic if you like hiking. If you adjust your plans to bus schedules, you can even get around without a car. The owner was super friendly and helpful, he picked us up from the airport and we stopped by in a large supermarket near the coast to stock up on food.

David and the other members of staff were really helpful and welcoming. Easy car-parking right outside. The rooms of the apartment were spacious, bright and clean with sunshine throughout the day if you want it and good shutters if you don't. A good kitchen with everything you might need, good cooker, fridge-freezer, etc. Fataga is a charming little village with plenty going on during the day but lovely and quiet at night. Overall a great place to stay, especially if you like to do your own thing.

Our lovely host David could not have been more helpful! We had a bowl of fresh fruit from his garden waiting for us and he spent a good thirty minutes advising us on places to visit, hiking routes and the best restaurants. When we wanted a taxi to take us to Maspolomas to see friends he arranged that for us in a trice. He also gave us a tour of his incredible garden (and gave us more fresh fruit!) orange, mandarin, lime, lemon, avocado, papaya, Cavendish banana (small and sweet, you have to try them) and several other varieties of tropical fruit we had never heard of all growing there.

The host David and his mother were just incredibly nice and so welcoming! They were giving us tips what to see around see island, asked frequently how we were doing, gave us fresh oranges and lemons and were just sweet and gorgeous. The view from the balcony in to the mountains of Fataga is stunning. With a car you get very fast to spots to go hiking or to the beach. In addition there is a bus operating. Overall we fully enjoyed our stay with David and can fully recommend the apartment!
