Apartamentos Vista al Puerto

Spacious and well-equipped apartment with very nice views of the cala from both the balcony and the spacious terrace. The pictures in the listing are very true and accurate - what you see is exactly what you will get. The hosts are a family who live in the same building, they are super friendly and met us to provide the keys and explain everything about the apartment; some English is spoken, but I was happy to have the opportunity to practice Spanish. Even though our plane was delayed and we arrived very late, they greeted us upon arrival. Communication with the hosts was very efficient using WhatsApp. There is a full-size washing machine in a separate laundry room which allowed us to do our laundry very easily. The kitchen is fully equipped including a full-size dishwasher. Free parking was readily available on the street in front of the building. We had everything we needed for our 5 night stay; we only had to buy hand soap for the bathroom, laundry soap, and napkins. There is storage room next to the kitchen with plenty of things for a day a the beach including umbrellas, insulated bags, and beach mat. All linens were provided, including plenty of towels. Although we are a couple and did not have anyone else traveling with us, this apartment would be very comfortable for 2 couples or a family, for a short or long stay. There is a binder in the apartment with information about sites and activities in the area. Cala Figuera is very quiet, tranquil and charming with beautiful surroundings of both its nature and the traditional style architecture, giving it a bit of a boutique/upscale vibe, but without being pretentious. It was very easy to drive to all of the nearby beaches and calas and other towns. We loved Mallorca and our stay here and would 100% return again! This apartment was an excellent value! TIP: get to the nearby calas EARLY! Otherwise you will not find parking or a spot on the rocks! In late September we were shocked by how crowded it was.

The binder had some information that was only in German (as we now know, a LOT of Germans go to Mallorca - something like 40% of all visitors). We only read English and Spanish, so I had to use a translator app - not really an issue if you are used to using a translation app. I am not taking any points off for this but it would nice to have the info in Spanish and English.

The apartment is on a spectacular view over the harbour of Cala Figuera. Everything that one needs for a self-catering holiday is there. Several excellent seafood restaurants are within 1-2 minute walking distance. The hosts are warm and friendly, and very helpful with whatever need or query. We had several basic supplies waiting for us on arrival. Within the harbour area are very nice snorkeling spots and the general scenery is fantastic. The nearby beaches of Cala Llombards and Cala Santanyi (among a few) are superb. The town of Santanyi is absolutely worth the trouble of a visit, especially on Wednesdays and Saturdays, when there is a flea market with tons of local produce and handcraft.

The apartment does not have air conditioning, but we found it easy to acclimatise. However, this may be an issue for some during high summer, as the temperatures were around the mid 30's. Parking is also a bit tricky - we parked a block or two away, and never had trouble finding parking, but it did mean walking 5 minutes or so to the car. The nearest beaches are about 5 - 10 min driving, and finding parking at the beach can be challenging. Groceries in Cala Figuera are fantastically expensive and severely limited in variety, so plan for a trip to Santanyi every now and then.
