Palamós Moonlight Apartment

Location and view

The location was hit and miss. It was relatively quiet and the view was decent, but it was a 5-10 minute walk to do anything. We were traveling with a young infant and it was difficult to get the stroller into the elevator with another person (but we got used to it). The apartment itself was nice, bright, and had ample space. The wifi was not amazing and took quite a bit of trial and error to get it to work with our baby monitor. Kitchen appliances were not amazing and the knives were dangerously dull, but thankfully the host company was able to replace those quickly upon request.

By far the worst part was parking -- the parking space is not remotely close to the apartment building, it is 300m walking (and a 6-7 min drive because you have to go all the way around the town to get there). The space is also very difficult to get into (you need to manually open two doors while blocking an entire narrow street, then carefully navigate your car into a shared garage with multiple other cars and very little clearance. It took multiple people for us to do it effectively and we ultimately tried to avoid using our car as much as possible. While there is parking on the street in front of the apartment, it was incredibly busy on weekends and we were ultimately unable to find parking many days. We would drop off our child with one parent and then have the other parent drive to park the car in town, which was not an ideal situation. The parking situation was not clear when we booked and we likely would have booked elsewhere had we known. The host also provided a crib (upon request and for a 25 euro fee), but the mattress in the crib was too soft for use with an infant. We did not have the same problem at any of our other stays in Spain, so it was a bit disappointing (but thankfully we also brought a travel crib which we used exclusively). We would have been happy to use the second crib if it had a firmer mattress to reduce the SIDS risk.
