Rooms at Ellivuori

It's near to Ellivuori skiing center - the only good thing about this hotel.

Pretty poor and disappointing customer service. Reception staff were rude, expressionless without basic smiles, and totally clueless. The beach sauna hotline staff called Helen was notably rude, arrogant and not accommodating to English-speaking tourists. Spa was closed for reno without even a clear notification on website and every else (beach sauna, massage, virtual shooting, etc.) was either full or unavailable. Worst was we were told to wait for 1 hour 40 minutes for dinner on Saturday, when the restaurant was only half full (did they only have 1 chef at the start of skiing holiday season peak? If yes, pretty bad planning and management.) Rooms were uncomfortably small too. Breakfast buffet was expensive and mediocre, and definitely not worth the high charge. Will not come again and will not recommend to others.

It was close to the ski slopes and on a lake. We were also able to access the bar in the adjoining hotel. Host was great with letting us check in early- and once we worked out how to check in (not at the hotel reception) it was very easy.

It was definetly smaller than I thought (with the sofa bed out) and there was no room for a table and chairs- for eating. Washing up also had to be done in the bathroom sink. But for 1 night it was fine.

The room was nice and comfortable.

Breakfast offered a lot of options but the quality of the food left something to be desired.
