Renovated 1BR at Main Square - Sauna & Parking

The room was clean. Like the pictures.

The check-in process was very complicated, after making the non-refundable booking I was told that I must upload my passport to an unsecured link before you can get the keys. I was told by the host that this is in accordance with Finnish law. However, I did not face this request from any other Finnish hosts except this one. To get the keys for check-in, I was asked to go to a restaurant (not located close to the apartment) to pick up the keys. Check-out includes a detailed list of chores you are expected to complete before you leave. The check-in and check-out process places too many requirements on the guest but the host was unclear about simple things like where the trash must be taken at the end of the stay. The stay was good except for the interactions with the host.

Location, clean, sauna, coffee

No luxury whatsoever! It’s a scandal that one has to go get the apartment’s keys in a fast food restaurant and watch a YouTube video to understand where the apartment is, we lost one hour due to these things! The apartment is clean and big but not homely or luxurious at all. The blankets are so thin we were cold at night and had to put on clothes. The heating wasn’t on. The beds weren’t too comfy and there were only two small pillows. The windows didn’t have shutters and all night there was light coming in as there aren’t any fabric curtains, so we had to wear sleeping masks. The instructions said that Sauna takes 1 hour to heat but it was difficult to reach 50 degrees in 1.5 hours. What a waste of time and resources!The view of the windows is into a carpark with no trees or green, it’s not beautiful at all. We didn’t sleep well both nights, we’re just happy to go. And in the end you’re asked to take the trash out yourself - luxury?!?

The room is excellent and facilities are in very good status!

1. There is no elevator and no information before hand. So it was a "surprise" entering the gate and carried 3 luggages to go upstairs, especially the stairs case is very narrow... 2. The door-ring was not very clearly labeled. The label on the door ring should match to the name of the apartment. You couldn't really figure out which one is it but have to be bravely tried a few times wrong one...

Great location for sightseeing in Tampere. Great sauna facilities.

I paid extra for an early check-in, but couldn't get in touch with the host. I showed up at the restaurant where I was supposed to pick up the key, but it was missing and I couldn't reach the host. I finally managed to contact the janitor, who met me in front of the property and let me in, but the property was not cleaned. We were told that shoes were not allowed in the property, but we found the janitor cleaning with shoes on. There was no elevator in the building, and I had to climb a narrow spiral staircase to the third floor to get into the apartment.

I loved the apartment. It was very clean, big (espacially because i was on my own) and i loved the sauna
