Design apartment in Madrids Downtown - 3BD 2BT

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The host was in contact with us prior to our stay and available to answer any questions leading up to our arrival. We were met by the host and checked in at the property. It’s very spacious and a well kept property. The location is great and right by the station and there is even a 24 hour supermarket running opposite.

I would point out is that there were no additional bin bags or toilet roll. It seemed wasteful to buy whole rolls as guests on a short holiday as we were also advised to not leave any items behind. The only other major shortfall was the cleanliness of the shared furniture. The curtains were covered in dust and the sofas are all stained.

The property manager was very obliging when our flight to Madrid was canceled shortly before takeoff but our adult son arrived as planned. They did not fuss about him not being the booking party (I supplied him with all the codes) and met him to give him the keys and explain property policies. The living room and kitchen were large enough to accommodate six adults comfortably and there were ample closets throughout the apartment. The location in Lavapies, which we chose to be far away from the craziness of Easter week, was not at all dodgy (as some reviewers suggested); its noticeable diversity meant we found a wide range of restaurants that were not too crowded. Proximity to Atocha Station as well as to the avenue of museums was a plus. There's also a convenient grocery right across the square.

There was only one set of keys for 6 people. The third bedroom is quite small, with a trundle bed that takes up most of the floor space. Some people might find the busyness of the square where the apartment is located off-putting, and there was a social gathering and a demonstration in the 5 days we were there, but both ended promptly at 9/10 pm and there was absolutely no lingering afterward.

The property was exactly like the pictures, really clean and modern in an ideal location. With a 24 hour supermarket across the road and a metro station around the corner.
