Duque de Boliches

Superbly located only 5 minutes walk from the parador in Arcos. Very nicely appointed, lots of space and amazing views across the valley from the bedrooms. Really wonderful place and would have loved to stay longer Comes with a car park pass to park in the public underground car park around 5 mins walk away, but would be no problem to collect or drop-off luggage directly outside the property.

The apartment is in a beautiful location right in the center, within walking distance to the historic old town, restaurants, and bars. The host warmly welcomed us and even prepared a small snack and drink on arrival, which was a lovely touch. The view from the apartment is stunning, and we especially appreciated the secured parking in nearby underground garages. What truly stood out were the exceptionally comfortable beds and pillows – we slept like babies! The area is peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing. We would absolutely love to come back again!

Great hospitality. The apartment was well laid out and appointed. We appreciated the selection of a wide variety of teas, coffee, a cold beer in the fridge for each guest, a bottle of water, napkins, utensils as well as items to cook with. Apartment is quite bright and works very well for travelers wanting the privacy of two bedrooms. The apartment includes a large welcoming seating area and then a modern kitchen and bathroom. One is able to feel very much at home there.

It is well located to visit the cathedral on the hill top. It is extremely clean and well looked after. In order to gain entry the host will meet you at the apartment. If you are driving then the parking is approximately 1 kilometre away at the hosts property. The apartment is located on a busy narrow street so you can’t spend too much time unpacking the car. The host was very nice but only speaks Spanish. Even though he is on WhatsApp never responded to my messages.

There was a lot to like: Location, just a 5 minute walk up to the old town (The first bit is the worst). Comfortable beds and very clean. Views from bedrooms. Aircon in living area. Private garage space 10 mins walk away or free parking on street. Tip: go in to the Parador Hotel next to the castle for a coffee, drink or meal. The terrace is very pleasant with stunning views.

The mosquito mesh blind on to Juliet balcony was broken and wouldn't stay up. Bit hot in the bedrooms, just overhead ceiling fans.

The hosts greeted us at the entry and showed us around. They only speak Spanish, but it wasn’t a problem. We loved the small details. Some candy, water and two beers in the fridge. Everything was super clean and the flat is exactly like in the pictures. The view from the balcony was stunning.

The flush of the toilet was a bit loose, so it would be nice if that gets fixed. :-) Otherwise everything was perfect.

The Duque de Boliches apartment in Arcos de la Frontera was very nice with lots of amenities and great view! The apartment layout was good and would work for a stay of several days. The kitchen was equipped, and the owner left helpful supplies such as teas, coffees, etc. The bathroom was spacious with a large shower. The bedroom mattress was really comfortable with a memory foam top. And the view from the bedrooms was just amazing off the town cliff! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying here.

The only issues we had were regarding communication and parking. We alerted the host that we were 30 min away but then never heard from him. So when we arrived in town, we tried circling the area and finally had to go park in the parking garage where we waited further for a response and then decided to start walking around town including a walk right past the apartment door again. Once we finally connected with the host, he said he had been waiting an hour for us, but we had circled several times never seeing him until we showed up at the door 5 minutes after he finally messaged us. This delay in communication led to the parking issue. Probably the host should give instructions straight to the parking space and meet his guests there to explain where to park. In our case, we arrived thinking we would be able to drop our luggage and then go park. Because the host did not connect quickly, we circled the area via narrow streets a few times. After noticing that most cars were parked at "no parking" signs and on the sidewalks, we eventually decided to do the same just until we could unload luggage. Before we even had the car in the space, police immediately showed up to tell us we could not park. We're not sure how our parking was different, but this is probably a good sign that they have nothing better to do in the area. In the end, due to our inability to communicate in Spanish, we paid the 15 euros to park in the town garage overnight rather than try to move to the apapartment's garage parking space. But we understand that there is good parking available in a garage for the apartment. Once parked, there is a decently long walk uphill with luggage to the apartment. It's a standard walk for Europeans, but Americans might just want to be aware. We didn't mind it at all, and we would stay there again for sure!
