Apartment One at the Carriage House was everything we could have hoped for and more. The hosts were very welcoming and provided us with everything we needed before and during our stay. We found the apartment very spacious, clean, comfortable, warm and welcoming. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials.which is great for home cooking and there is a dishwasher which is an added bonus for cleaning up after cooking for a large group! The large dining table is a great feature as it meant we could all eat together. The rooms were well presented with fresh bedding, towels and even a small pillow chocolate! We were very grateful for the eggs, bread and cereal that were provided for breakfast and liked the idea of the honesty box for soft drinks and snacks. To the best of my knowledge there is no local shop so this box is a nice touch if you find yourself short of something! There is a pub just a couple of minutes walk away which serves food, but the chef wasn't available during our stay so we traveled a little bit further to the Nags Head pub at Askham Bryan, which serves great food and was less than 10 minutes drive from the apartment as a second option if you are staying for a longer period. In summary, we had a really relaxing stay and would definitely consider the apartment for future stays!

The property was super clean and comfy. We had everything we needed, and all were in good condition. It was so caring to have the beverage basket, though we hadn't use it. Communication from the host was effective with clear instructions. Highly recommended to friends visiting York in car.
