Westmorland 32 caravan

A beautiful and well equipped property with lots of personal touches (I especially loved all of the autumn decorations!). Even with the October weather, the caravan was always warm and cozy. Anything we could have needed was provided, as well as lots of extra touches that made it all the more special. The owner was very kind and courteous in replying to all of my silly questions before arriving and made us feel right at home! This was the first holiday my family had been on since 2018, and this was the perfect place for us to connect with each other and take a long needed break after the last few tough years. It was wonderful to be surrounded by the beautiful scenery around us and to have such a lovely property to spend our time in.

nothing wrong with the caravan, it was the pool we had an issue with. water was below recommended temperature so we’re unable to use it which was one of the reasons we booked the caravan, for the children.

The owner was great at communicating. Sent very clear instructions on how to find the site and caravan as well as how to access the key. Also provided information on the boiler/heating. The site was peaceful and well laid out. The staff at the central reception/bar/restaurant were very friendly. Nice to have private access to the swimming pool and it was very easy to book time. The caravan was well stocked with basics and had lots of handy items such as an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. Linen and towels were provided and were all clean and serviceable. Surrounding area was gorgeous. Great base for touring the south west if you don't mind driving.

The pillows in the double bed were very uncomfortable and only one on each side of the bed. The mattress was also bigger than the bed base and we had issues with it slipping around. It would have been nice to have some information on local facilities such as shops, takeaways and opening times for the on site restaurant (it wasn't serving food for the better part of the time we stayed which wasn't very useful. Shame because the one meal my partner and I did manage to have there was excellent.) The pool itself was great but the building it was in was grubby and run down.

Location was very picturesque. Little rabbits hopping about the place. Caravan was nicely decorated, appointed and clean. Lovely outdoor space and comfortable outside seating. Friendly holiday park. Nice outdoor park for kids.

Unfortunately the beds were extremely uncomfortable. I understand it is a caravan but none of us slept well at all, even my 11 year old. For that reason I wouldn't visit again. Nothing to do with the owner of the caravan but the "pool" on site is a health hazard. It smelled of urine and the handles to enter the pool were coming out of the ground. Filth such as plasters abs and UFOs floating about. Water everywhere on the floor (no pool attendant) so really dangerous. Strange rule as well about having to enter wearing your costume and not being allowed to change out of your costume in the changing facilities after you've finished? Presumably because there's no changing area.

Had a great holiday. The caravan was very clean, modern and everything was there that was needed. Hosts were always quick to answer any questions. The campsite is very quiet but that's why we booked it. The kids (8+11) loved the freedom of going to the playpark and trying to get as close as possible to a bunny! Close enough for us to go to Girvan for a day at the beach and a lovely chippie. All in all a lovely quiet, peaceful holiday!
