Darcey's Apartment

The location was very central. The apartment was really clean & compact - the beds were really comfy which is always a plus. The hosts were very available & friendly. There was also plenty of tourist info available which was handy. We had a lovely stay there.

Possibly only one thing - it’s in a busy area & it could be a little noisy outside - also heavy front doors in the apartments - but not in excess & it definitely didn’t spoil our stay.

Great location right in centre of Bowness-on-Windermere, fresh/very clean & modern, everything you need for the kitchen. Lots of storage. Nice table & chairs. Modern furniture. Great view. Lots of lamps/mirrors/electricity points. Two nice bedrooms. Big telly. Own parking space. Lovely hosts came right over to rectify a minor issue straight away.

Shower quite weak. Also not good for people with mobility issues as you have to walk up 2 flights stairs and walk around the front to get to flat - so bit of a trek with cases or, say, a buggy, but not an issue for us. Neither issues are major. Could do with a couple of fans maybe (althought we visited when it was 26⁰c)..

Ideally located for shops and restaurants. A beautifully kept apartment which made for a comfortable break in a lovely location

Nothing

Heated towel rail in the spacious bathroom was great for drying the towels and warmed the room up just right. Everything was at hand in the apartment from a hairdryer to washing up liquid and so on. There's everything a family/couple could use if staying for a while such as a washing machine, cooking equipment and a dining table. It's basically a home from home. The location is great with everything on your doorstep such as restaurants, cafes, bars, gift shops and a couple of mini supermarkets. though it is still fairly peaceful, at night all we heard was occasional traffic passing by. The Lake is a 5 minute stroll down the road and there is a bus stop there . There's a regular service that runs through all the major spots such as Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick so you could park up your car for the duration of your stay and travel around easily. We parked ours behind the apartment in a free space.

Stairs are a little steep upon entering the property.
