Beautiful apartments. Grounds were lovely

Clean comfy beds, quiet location and contained everything you would need for self catering.

About 5 minutes after arrival, 8.30pm, which was admittedly later than we planned, but not that late, we had a knock on the door from the site management. Without directly telling us off, it was a reminder to tread carefully on the floors. I can only imagine they thought we made to much noise bringing our bags and supplies up the stairs. So that was a little off putting instead of welcoming. The carpets were dirty and the sofa in the living room was covered in stains. So much so, we really did not want to sit on it. Also trying to be respectful to the staff/owners, we used the toilet brush. This was already brown and the smell was awful. It clearly had not seen any bleach in a long while. Poor cleaning spoilt the stay. Thankfully better attention was given to the beds and towels otherwise we would have walked out.

a very small niggle but a coffee table would have been useful or small table at far end of sofa as nowhere close to pop your drink!

Comfortable beds and very clean.

There weren’t any small side tables either inside or on the balcony, which would have been helpful to put drinks on. A bit tight on the tea and coffee, 4 tea bags and same amount of milk pods for 3 of us.

Fantastic facilities. The standard of the accommodation and furnishing is first class. Great utilities in the kitchen, nice to see.

Having to empty the bin myself at the end of the visit.

Myself & elderly relatives stayed for 3 nights at new year and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Meadows Barn. It was really comfortable, spacious, clean & a secure place to stay. We had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable & lovely clean linen. Weather was really cold so before arriving we were worried about being warm, but we had no need to worry as the apartment was lovely & warm. The grounds were pretty & well kept, we enjoyed the views from both the apartment & from the top of the grounds. Lovely views from the top of the land & great to see beehives which no doubt add positively to the environment during the warmer months. Secure gate on the driveway was really nice feature too. We met Julia (owner) on our last day & it was lovely chatting with her & hearing a little history of the place. Thanks for a lovely place to stay 🙏🏻🤩

Nothing that we didn’t like at all, we really enjoyed our stay. Really good idea to have signs outside front door saying ‘no shoes, no smoking’ as this helps keep the place clean. My only minor suggestion is that my elderly relatives need to sit down to remove shoes. They were unable to manage this while standing in the hallway where the signage was. There is laminate flooring immediately inside the front door so we moved a chair to sit on just inside the front door to help them be able take shoes off & so we could respect the ‘no shoes’ request. As I said, didn’t negatively impact us at all & likely wouldn’t affect most guests, & we easily overcame this without bother.
