Balmoral Apartment

Lovely location in central Keswick.

Accommodation felt like it was in need of maintenance and an update. On 5th floor, bedroom window had no safety and opened wide. Living room window is broken and very difficult to close. Only one tea spoon in property.

The location was perfect and private parking space was a bonus. However, it is worth noting that you can’t park up right next to the apartment and have to walk round the building to get to the carpark. The facility had all basics I needed for the stay.

When using an oven, the fire alarm would go off each time I opened the oven.

Was advertised as 3rd floor - was actually 4th. 63 steps!!! Overall needs a good refresh. Bed very low and very uncomfortable. Top price but nowhere near top quality. TV very old and as no wifi, couldn't watch apps e.g Netflix

Lovely apartment, cosy, comfortable and a great location in the centre, with a lovely view from the living room. Decent room for clothes storage, comfortable bed (though low down if this might be a problem) with great pillows. Great shower with lovely towels and toiletries, spare toilet rolls and the heated towel rail was a bonus. The kitchen is fairly well equipped with nice crockery, exactly the type of cup I like, mugs also available, I'd have no hesitation staying again.

Not so much a dislike as would have found useful, a good bread knife and colander, maybe a basin for the sink and a general information leaflet is often useful. The apartment was clean but I did find a bit of debris in the oven. Well warned about the stairs and I didn't find them a problem, in fact being so high up improved the view. No ice box in the fridge and no tea/coffee but I always come prepared

Central location with spectacular views. Free parking was a bonus. Clean apartment and lovely shower. Lovely and quiet at night, we slept great. We really enjoyed our stay, it was lovely.

No WiFi was a struggle when we were trying to map out our walks for the day. Communication could have been a bit better as had a few questions ahead of the trip but didn’t get a reply until I called them directly the day before arrival. Very friendly staff though and very helpful. I would definitely return if WiFi was introduced.

The apartment had good views of the mountains, its bathroom was clean and well-decorated, and the bedroom was comfortable.

The shower did not drain properly, the dining chairs were rickety, the living room window seemed to be unusable, the sofa had dog hairs and dirt in the cracks between the cushions, and some clothing had been left beneath the bed — the last article was particularly unsettling, as it suggests that the cleaning process is not very thorough at this apartment.

No wifi (not a deal breaker but something I think you come to expect wherever you stay these days). Bathroom wasn't very clean and one roll of loo roll for a 3 night 4-day stay with two people, we're economical but not that good - it of course ran out - how hard is it to provide an extra roll? Main issue was 7+ flights of external stairs - this was advised during the booking but it really was labour intensive - and I can't imagine it being very pleasant if it was wet or icy.

Very tired decor. Dirty/stains on bathroom door. No bread knife. Very little cutlery. Broken lamp standard. Bedroom door wouldn’t open fully because the bed was in the way. (Too heavy for us to move). And the bed is the lowest I’ve ever slept on! It would be difficult for less fit seniors.
