Cosy getaway near Rutland Water

The location was perfect and it certainly was a cosy stay. Owner was very helpful dropping off an iron.

There were 3 adults staying and understood this to be a double bed and sofa bed, however it was not a sofa bed but a blow up air bed.

Good location, nice and quiet, in a part of Rutland we’d not visited before.

Self catering. Location suited us, scenery lovely and very private.

A few tweaks needed - hot tap in bathroom didn’t work and a couple of windows need revsealing.

The location suited my reason for being there as it was close to Uppingham where I was attending a summer school so was commuting daily. Lesley was welcoming and the house was basically a good comfortable place to stay. The bed was very comfortable and the new bathroom well appointed. The kitchen area had new cooking facilities though the supply of utensils was a bit limited

It felt as though the house was not quite finished and some plaster work needed finishing off and perhaps a bit more paintwork needed completion. The lighting was very poor in the kitchen/diner area at night and in the lounge area too it was not bright enough to read in the evening (I discussed this with Lesley before I left)

quite an isolated area,but we found it very relaxing and very peaceful, was ideal for the the few days that we were there

just lacked a few things which I would have felt were essential eg; a pair of scissors, and maybe a bread board
