Carnegie Library: Shakespeare Apartment 3 Bedroom

Very spacious as it has 3 beds and there were only 2 of us. Lovely and clean, furnishings lovely. Fantastic building. Great communication with the host

Only thing that lets it down slightly is the parking. I was very worried that we'd get a ticket as the side road on the left states its 'residents parking only' this was clarified by the host who explained that the side of the road next to the Library was where we parked, but that really wasn't clear at the start. The outside steps of the building were very unkempt and its on a busy main street. By evening became far more quiet.

Lovely building with lots of quirky original features. Lovely spacious lounge and plenty comfy seating for our group. Sky TV and bluetooth speaker for playing our music. Super clean and fabulous beds/pillows. We used the little private (shared?) balcony to sit in the afternoon sun with a glass of wine - a real sun trap and a bonus feature we didn't know about. Coffee machine and coffee pods provided. Free parking on the side street. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment and would definitely return if I was visiting the area again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stayed in the Shakespeare Apartment at Library House — a converted Edwardian library in Swinton — and it genuinely exceeded every expectation. The building itself is stunning from the outside, with its original clock tower and grand entrance. Inside, the main living space has a spectacular floor-to-ceiling stained glass window and a beautiful Victorian cast iron stove that make it unlike any apartment I've ever stayed in. I had the master bedroom, which was spacious, comfortable and full of character. But the real highlight was the bathroom — a freestanding roll-top clawfoot bath in its own gorgeous space. I could have stayed in there all day. The apartment has three bedrooms in total, so it's ideal for a group, but even as a single-room stay it felt incredibly special. The host was exceptional — responsive, helpful, and genuinely warm. She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend without hesitation.

The building was beautiful the apartment very comfortable.

This is minor, but a bath mat in the shower room would be nice to catch spray from the shower.
