Breakwater

Breakwater is ideally located on the sea front and gives an excellent view of the islands Craigleith, and Bass rock. It is also provides easy access to all the local amenities which are within walking distance. The property is very well presented and very clean and comfortable, and has everything you would need during your stay.

Everything was as advertised, and there was nothing not to like. The only thing that could be improved upon ,was the communication from the agent as I had an email, confirming the booking and stating that the keys were to be picked up from an address on the high street, as an office. On the day of the visit I went to the address as stated , but it was not there, and I was told by the shop next door they had not been there for a while,which was a bit worrying. I didn’t realise I had been sent another email , as I had been travelling all day, and so hadn’t looked at my emails, giving different instructions, this was a bit frustrating, and if I was unable to check my emails again, it would have been a problem.Im sure this can easily be resolved, if you are told beforehand about the situation.

The position of the appartment was excellent and it was a good size. Kitchen area could be regarded as small, however. Comfy sofas and beds. Good showers.

Poor inconsistent wifi,(internet kept breaking down and tv wouldnt work as well as not being able to use our phones) small tv, having to deal with our own rubbish. Poor instructions for heating. Stripping beds. I have already spoken to coast cottages re the above. For booking.com please could you explain why I paid so much more for the week than the weeks before and after ours and why the cottage for the same week next year is a few 100 pounds cheaper with coastal cottages. Thank you

Fantastic location! Great finishes and style.

No dishwasher, only 1 tea towel.

The location was great, everything was clean, and everything was comfortable. I was appreciative of the directions to turn up the heat because the preset temp was a little too cold for us. We had a couple of special requests and the persons responding were all very nice and helpful.

Great location. An en-suite as well a bathroom was perfect. Very tasteful furnishings and decor.

Removal of rubbish was difficult when you are on public transport!!

The property is a real home for home. A lot of thought has gone into providing lots for a really comfortable stay. And being on the sea front is a joy. The flat is cosy and warm, we didn't need to adjust the heating. Everything was lovely and clean, and we really appreciated the toiletries and washing up items provided. Games and local information provided, binoculars to gaze at the sea, from the window seat, books to read. We really enjoyed staying at Breakwater, and after a busy day, looked forward to going back to the cosy environment it provided. We would definitely recommend it.

Probably our only negative, but better recycling facilities could be provided in the vestibule to take things to the local recycling facilities, which are nearby. There is only 1 bin in the kitchen for general waste, and we didn't have enough of our own bags to use for this, so it made it tricky.

It was beautifully clean and well equipped and the location was outstanding. Comfortable seating and beds, and lovely toiletries provided in the bathrooms. There was also a good selection of books and games, as well as binoculars to help make the most of the wonderful views.

We were asked to remove all rubbish and recycling from the property, which in itself is fine. What was not acceptable though, is that there were no outside bins and all the public bins stated no household refuse. We were not willing to take rubbish home in the car - totally unsanitary. Luckily we found the local refuse and recycling centre but that took us out of our way - also what do you expect people to do, who don’t have a car with them? Outside household waste and recycling bins should be provided for the property as standard.
