Stunning studio cntrl Totnes with parking

This ‘stunning apartment’ is very basic. It has very little comfort - not even a sofa! Just three small hard wooden chairs. The shower is difficult to climb into and out because the bath is deep and there is no hand hold. If the Velux window in the bathroom is open the bathroom door blows open because the catch is so poor. There is an instruction to be careful not to spill water on the floor in the bathroom because it is unfinished! The bathroom mirror is tiny and the full-length one in the main room is virtually unusable. There is the absolute minimum of crockery and glass wear in the kitchenette. All the taps are very fiddly to use, with the hot supply on the right in the bathroom - non-standard and very irritating! A handrail would be a good safety feature for the steep staircase but is absent. The front door fits badly and rattles. Best bit is the parking but even this isn’t in a marked parking spot and you are told to park tight against a low wall. You are asked to leave by 10.00am and to book in after 3.00pm, so a day’s stay is pretty restricted.

Central, but quiet.

Grubby headboard, un-ironed bottom sheet and no oven (just a microwave on a very high shelf). The front door Yale-type lock was very difficult to open and close.

Very cosy little apartment, hosts left plenty of recommendations on where to visit and eat.

It was quite cold even though I had the heating on.

Clean bright warm comfortable close to the town and with parking. Perfect for a relaxing break.

Nothing it was all great

Beautifully decorated, comfortable bed, good shower.

Noise from the toilet unit in the bathroom; the unlit driveway from the nearby house to the studio.

The studio was beautiful, with great access to the town and was very easy to get to by car or foot (follow the Western By Pass to avoid the hills). We had a lovely weekend and will definitely be checking in again if we return to Totnes.
