Location was ideal for shops and dog walking along the river. Renovation on the property had been done to a high standard, loved the visible stone/ brickwork inside the property. Plenty of space, plenty of wall sockets. Property was very warm with an easy to use heating system.

This is a difficult one! The following didn’t bother us too much but might bother other people. Four flights of stairs up to the property, can be a little noisy at times from vehicles out the front, sofa was uncomfortable.

"Make sure it's not raining"

4.0

The flat was spacious and well laid out. Thought had been put into it's overall look.

I don't usually provide negative feedback unless I feel something is very amiss. I've worked in the hospitality industry and understand that sometimes things just go wrong - life's like that. However on Saturday evening we realised that the roof was leaking directly onto the bed, so grabbed the washing up bowl from the kitchen to catch as much water as possible. I contacted the management through the booking.com website to let them know I'd videoed the leak so they knew where the issue was and also due to my obvious frustration added that the bathroom cold tap had seized up completely and was unusable and also that the temperature button on the shower was missing. At 7.45 pm I received a reply telling me that as it was now past 10pm the maintenance person would not be called out and that if I needed cold water I should use the kitchen tap. I was also informed that the water temperature was fixed at 40°. To be honest my initial thoughts on reading this was 'does Morpeth lie on a different longitudinal line to the rest of Britain? Does it comes under MMT (Morpeth Meantime) as opposed to GMT? My next thoughts were more rational - let's be clear the total charge for my 2 night stay was £410. The response to my report was use the kitchen sink to brush your teeth, accept a lukewarm shower and sleep on a wet bed. Wouldn't it have been more professional to have offered alternative accomodation? Maybe there was no alternative, so how about explaining that and maybe offering some dry bedding instead? Either one of those would have been ok, like I said sometimes things just go wrong. Sorry I can't upload the video for you all on this website, I realise stills don't really capture the drama. But I will advise you to be careful when going past the end of the bed, the brass knobs aren't fixed and could really hurt if they land on your feet! £205 per night? Next time I'll just find the nearest Travelodge....
