The location was perfect.

The host is horrible. The place wasnt cleaned and the sheets on the bed was dirty. We tried to contact the host, but she keep declined our calls and messaging that she was “out of the country”. The pictures doesnt live up to the place. We got our keys, from the hosts friend. But he wasnt helpfull in regrads to the problems we had in the apartment.

It was not very clean we felt the bed was itchy from dust.

The location. Very central. Short walk to tram stations and shops. The kitchen has a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a cooker, a toaster, crockery and cutlery, cleaning utensils, etc. Ironing board and iron. Wall heaters, portable heaters, and fans are provided. WiFi. Lovely cafe, selling delicious breakfasts next door all day.

● The images on Booking.com are NOT of the accommodation. I received a video of the flat a few days before travelling. This was when I realised that this flat was not the advertised flat that I thought I had booked. I was disappointed with how this flat looked in the video, but I couldn't find other accommodation with a cental locality at such short notice for the number of people in our party. I shared the video with the others in my travel group, discussed our lack of options, and as we required somewhere to stay for a few nights due to commitments in Manchester, we agreed to just hope for the best and try to make the most of it. ● Gaining entry to the building on arrival was a hassle as instructions are, " 1 person goes to front of building. Wait for someone to arrive/leave. " So, on receipt of these instructions, 4 days before our travel, I had to reply to confirm if this meant we had to just hang about until someone/anyone appeared at the door. And why only 1 person? Where did the others have to wait? That was when I was given a mobile number to call in the event of any issues gaining access. Regardless, I had never heard anything like it with any prior bookings. This is not ideal after over 3 hours of travelling, nor very professional. I had sent a message to let the host know that we were 30 mins away (as instructed), but no one greeted us on arrival. I called the number provided by the host, although we managed to access the building (by someone exiting for a cigarette) before anyone arrived to help us. Standing outside on the pavement of a busy street, with cases and bags in tow, is not the best start of a few days away. Fortunately for us though, it wasn't raining!! ● The reason for 1 person only at the door becomes apparent when a sign at the lift advises "Short term rentals and Airbnbs are strictly prohibited." That was a worry! Should we even be there?? So, 2nd disappointment, and we're not yet in the flat.

The property was very very dirty. The bed sheets were dark grey to hide the fact that they were not changed after each guest which was evident by the long thick black hair and crumbs that I found in the bed. The property has severe damp in the bathrooms and thick black mouldy sludge on every window. Before my stay I was sent around 10 text messages regarding how I was to treat and leave the property or I would lose my deposit. This was very off putting. If I was to leave the property later than 10am I would be charged to compensate the cleaner…. What cleaner?! The property requires a deep deep clean. It shouldn’t really be on booking.com. There was also an issue collecting the key. After trekking from one Spar shop to the next in search I finally arrived at a Spar shop that had been closed down for refurbishment where the owner left the key. I couldn’t get it so was informed to stand outside the block of apartments and await for someone to leave to get in. I would avoid this property at all costs. It’s the kind of place where you wipe your shoes on the way out. It has potential but is just so dirty.

Location was central for the Christmas markets which was the only thing good about it. The kitchen area was fairly new and okay.

Where do I begin: Firstly the place was cold with only two of the wall heaters working. There were two plug in heaters available as well but, only one of them worked. We informed the owners who said they would drop us off some heaters the next morning. We opened the door to go out the next morning and found a fan heater outside, obviously dropped off by the owner at some point. Believe it or not this one did not work either !! We later found out that all the owner had to do was come around and flick the trip switch back on in the locked cupboard for the remaining wall heaters to work ! The place had evidence of damp and mould in the bathrooms and around the windows. Some of the bed linen was not clean i.e. stained and not fresh. Rugs were dirty. The bathroom fittings were generally old and the shower in the one was constantly leaking and not fit for purpose. The photos of the property online did not reflect the property we stayed in. Generally the place felt grubby and lacked some TLC.
