"Perfect 10 for a short stay in Canterbury."

10.0

What a beautiful place! Location is literally PERFECT ! You are right in the center of town. Very spacious very clean apartment with everything you need for your pleasant stay. Castle car parking is a few minutes walk down Stour Street. The most charming restaurant Weaver’s and bakeries right across the street. You are simply in the center of it all! The location is simply PERFECT!

This is absolutely not anyone’s fault BUT you are right on the main pedestrian street in the middle of the action so on Saturday night the loud nightlife went on till 3 am while 5 am brought the noises of all business opening and cleaning the streets. If that doesn’t bother you - you will LOVE the place like we did.

"A great base for visiting Canterbury but don't forget to turn the heating down at night"

7.0

The location is great. The apartment decor is also very nice. The lounge is spacious. The ceilings are high. The bathroom and kitchen were clean and everything worked well.

There is little ventilation other than the bathroom extractor fan. The thermostat was set at 23 deg and it was very hot on arrival. You can't open the windows. There is no time control on the heating. We forgot to turn it down on the second night and didn't sleep well as the apartment was very warm (even with the thermostat set at 21C). No reply from host when contacting through the Booking.com messaging system. The kitchen is very small and it's difficult to cram 4 people around the small kitchen table. No separate toilet, only the one in the bathroom.

"Central but not very clean"

6.0

Central to everything you need and want. The flat is really pretty. I also took baths in the amazing tub while I visited. Full kitchen! There is a Sainsbury's right below and this is helpful to grab a couple of items. The bay window is so pretty, but it doesn't have any padding, so it isn't the most comfortable. There is a nice coffee shop just across the way near to the Chaucer statue, and the hosts provide coffee capsules. :)

The space wasn't very clean. I found many hairs that weren't my own in the bedding. Long black ones. I have short brown hair. (Yuck) I also noticed the floor hadn't been swept and there was a nail clipping (yuck) in the corner of the hallway. It felt uncomfortable knowing that maybe the space hasn't been fully cleaned before my stay. Also, when I returned the keys, the code was displayed and it looked like someone had tried to get the keys but didn't change the code.

"Fully enjoyed our stay in this very central and luxury apartment"

9.0

Location, size of the apartment, fully equipped kitchen, beds, supermarket below the apartment.

Thermostat had some issues (high temperature in the middle of the night), how to dispose our garbage was not very clear (recycling options?) and the bin container was not emptied. Communication with the host could have been slightly better. Some dimmable lights (instead of spots) would have been appreciated, and we had to clean the washing machine on a very high temperature setting to get rid of bad smells.

"Perfect place to stay for a trip to Canterbury"

10.0

Beautiful and historic flat, perfectly placed to explore Canterbury. The flat has all the amenities you could need for a short break and the host has clearly taken care to address any comments previously provided by guests - well worth a visit.

If I have to write something then there is some noise at night from various street music, but with the location being so central this is to be expected and didn't hinder our trip in anyway.

"Great location but no parking or air conditioning"

6.0

Fantastic location in centre of Canterbury, with plenty more of places to eat and short walk to main attractions. Great sound proofing in the flat fortunately. Flat is comfortable and well furnished.

The Booking.com facilities listing showed parking and air conditioning available - this property has neither. Nearest public car park is £12 per day and 5 min walk from flat. Agent confirmed that despite the listing on the web they were “in the process of not having parking.” They did offer to reimburse the parking charges but have so far failed to honour this. Air conditioning is not available. Notices around the flat ask you not to open the windows. There are fans in each room, but on a hot day this is inadequate for cooling the bedrooms. There were a number of small flies buzzing around the flat - we discovered that these appear to emanate from the rubbish depository on the ground floor. The flat is on the first floor with no lift.

"Great location shame about the flies"

7.0

Nice apartment right in the centre of the city. Sainsburys located underneath for any groceries you might need. Easy check in. Nice space inside the apartment.

There were loads of tiny flies everywhere, On empyting the bin and putting it where directed this is where they were coming from, hundreds of them. Disgusting. My Mother was most anxious by them, everytime you tried to prepare any type of food they were there, on it, in it, flying around it. It really put her off and this was their anniversary weekend. Bring ear plugs as given it is a city centre location it is very noisy outside at night. Wallpaper coming off the wall in the smaller room and skirting boards either dirty or rotten in the same room.
