Paddock Drive

Location good for our purpose to visit family who live nearby. Breakfast n/a.

We had no contact with host. There was an ants nest in the entrance when we arrived which we had to deal with ourselves after a long drive.

All in all the property was good clean and tidy

It did get hot in there and there wasn’t a fan

Location was fine. A bit further out of town than we had thought. Great having the Running Horse so close by.

We had trouble finding the place as there is no signage for Paddock Drive and no numbering. We also had trouble opening the lock box. It was jammed.

It had everything you needed for a short stay. It was so clean and tidy!

We drove up and down Main Rd 4 times before I noticed the small sign.

We booked tbe day before and this was by far the best accommodation we have been too for the price

Property is secluded yet close to a neighbouring pub and only 10min drive from centre of Winchester, Some fantastic walks all from the comfort of this property. Lovely views to the rear of the property and complete silence for a great nights sleep.

Weirdly, that the keys in the lock turned the opposite direction and not knowing which key served which door lol

silence and privacy… it felt safe and secluded , yet connected ! it is a lovely little pad . I recommend the property . the owner always responds within a few hours … which made me feel even more comfortable:) thanks a million !

Being close to the Running Horse Pub where the food and service was superb, whilst disappointing, it was very generous of the management to offer a part refund, which was accepted, but that does not mean we lose our right to offer a fair review and it does not override the problems that clearly exist.

We stayed at Paddock Drive, because we thought it would be a good location, and close to an award winning pub! However, we did not realise that Paddock Drive was run/managed/owned by the same people as Winchester Apartments. We were very disappointed on arrival to find it had not been cleaned….unbelievable. An offer of a drink at the local pub was inappropriate as we had masses of things to do that involved driving. However, it was cleaned, in a manner that I would not put as a high standard. The freezer was so iced up we could get nothing in at all, and when I complained, it was suggested that we switch it off overnight and it would be cleaned the next day! One of the many things we had to do was some shopping, so the frozen food had to be eaten quite quickly! We were disappointed that this apartment does not have much in the way of amenities, such as a dishwasher or washing machine, a serious oversight on our part for not checking in advance. The bathroom is pokey, under the stairs so likely, if you are tall to constantly be bumping your head. However, the shower worked, but there was little or no light over the mirror, so same problem as Winchester Apartments, and the hairdryer, whilst a very flash model can’t be used in the bathroom, (we know how the UK electrics in the bathroom work -the only country that still can’t trust you with electrics in the bathroom - alternatives include wiring in hairdryers BTW!) with a very poor alternative in the main bedroom/living room area. There is another apartment upstairs and if, as we were, you are unfortunate to have a very heavy footed guest upstairs, then don’t expect much peace. The outlook from the front is depressing, which would have been better to have had large windows looking out over the ‘paddock’, the parking is not very well managed as it would seem that first in gets the park outside the communal door and hard luck if you are trying to unload your car!
