Caberfeidh Cottage

Located on the shore of Loch Indall with extensive views towards the south of Islay it was a most interesting place to be. We were also entertained daily by Hector, the mechanical lawnmower who did his stuff daily in front of our window.

Centrally located property to explore the whole island. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. Warm and cosy. Sea views.

Absolutely nothing.

Great communication, very kind, accommodating and friendly. Great location, stunning views, handy enclosed garden for the dog. Well equipped kitchen.

De cottage is naast Bruichladdich distillery , dus niet te missen. Ik ben bijna 2 m lang dus dat heeft ook een invloed op mijn review. Ben je tot 1.85 m lang dan zullen mijn opmerkingen niet zo snel van toepassing zijn. De deur naar buiten was wat te laag. Daar heb ik een aantal keren mijn hoofd gestoten. De keuken is mooi groot. De woonkamer goed ingericht, de serre fijn om te zitten. De douche is functioneel en werkt goed

De cottage is oud maar geelectrificeerd. Dus alles wat je gebruikt, daarvoor zijn schakelaars om aan te zetten. Als je een woning hebt waar je licht aandoet en de centrale verwarming gewoon met een knop regelt, dit is even meer puzzelen en handleidingen lezen als je later in het jaar reist. Dat geldt ook voor de badkamer. Dus even puzzelen. Helaas voor mijn lengte was het meubilair te laag. Dat is geen kritiek op de kwaliteit, een constatering.

Amazing location, very central and almost next door to Bruichladdich (where I would highly recommend the warehouse tasting!). Would be a great location for a family with children, but for our party of four adults it also served very nicely. The kitchen is well equipped for those interested in cooking for themselves.

The only thing I can think of that wasn't quite right during our stay was that the towel heater in the bathroom was broken. Overall it was a lovely stay, I wish we could have stayed longer!

We absolutely loved our stay on Islay in this cottage and are super grateful for the hosts helping us out when the ferry got cancelled. Highly recommend and hope to be making the trip again one day!
