Flat 4 The Gables Lyme Regis with free parking

We stayed 4 nights in this little gem. It was so close to the centre of Lyme Regis and the private parking meant that we didn’t have to pay extra for parking in public carparks. Their private garage is up the road from the property but there were no issues dropping our bags and then going to the garage. The description of the property is spot on. It is light and airy and also very cosy. It was nice to come home to after long walks and being out all day. You won’t be disappointed staying there. The host was very responsive to my messages. Thanks for a wonderful stay🤩

Mattress was rather lumpy!

We loved the location. The appartment was very nice set upon several levels . The rooms were bright and attractive and clean. The bed was comfortable , the bathroom was lovely with a great shower and towels provided . The lounge was cosy with a TV with excellent reception .The kitchen was well appointed and had all we needed for our stay .We only made breakfast as we decided to eat out each day . There is a lock up garage a minutes walk away which we used and was easy to find and in a quiet area .

Nothing we would recommended it for Lyme Regis or a base for touring Dorset/Devon

Had all the basic kitchen equipment you could need, absolutely spotless and easy to check in to property. Shower had good pressure and hot running water. Very cosy apartment and nicely decorated - some DVDs there to choose from. We had a comfy night in watching Rear Window and picked up a lush Chinese which is only two doors up the road and can be ordered for collection via Foodhub website. Apartment is located conveniently in the centre of town but on a quiet street. Host kindly let us park our car in their garage which was only a minute walk away and easy to get to - our Kia Rio fitted perfectly into the garage. Any bigger and it would have struggled. However, there is a car park available just up the road as an alternative if needed.

Please note, there is no freezer! It was my fault, I did not read the write up properly and failed to notice there is no freezer listed. It didn't affect our stay though and we were quite happy without one. The shower heads could do with a deep clean or replacing but to be honest, this is minor and again, didn't impact at all on our enjoyment of the property overall.

Cosy apartment within walking distance to beach, harbour, pubs, shops, brewery and walking track. Secure carpark and WiFi was available

Perfect location to explore Lyme on foot. With the free parking - no more than 100m away - we didn't need to use the car. The property on the first floor was clean and warm. The fridge was a good size and kitchen was well equipped. If felt homely. Wifi was excellent. There are plenty of bakeries, cafés pubs and restaurants for food. Would highly recommend The Lyme Bay, especially for its moules marinieres. There is also a chinese takeaway a few doors down, which was very tasty. Tesco Express and Co op are approx a 15 minute walk up into the town. Some suggestions for the property. - bigger cafetiere - for 2 rather than for 1 person - slightly thicker pillows - information folder about local walks, fossil hunting, cafes, pubs etc
