The Old School

We stayed in the Teacher’s Apartment. Very clean and spacious, good kitchen (everything you need is there), living room with open fire, plus parking on premises. The owners are easy to reach (live next door). The town itself is small, but has a well-stocked supermarket and is a convenient point for exploring the stunning Isle of Mull. There is a hotel with restaurant next to the Old School. The food is average, but staff is very kind and we had a great evening loosing from the locals in quiz night!

The shower is a bit small (not suitable for obese or very tall people) and like many British houses it’s electric which makes it a bit hard to adjust in temperture and not adjustable in pressure…but hey, who’s complaining. It’s 5 minutes of your day!

It was a bright, spacious apartment with all the amenities including an easy-to-use washing machine. And it was one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. One of the many thoughtful touches that I really appreciated was the box of tissues in most rooms. Also, no stairs and parking right outside the door. It is in the middle of the pretty village of Salen, with nice walks around and the Hotel next door for a delicious, hot meal.

The property is located in Salen ., literally in the middle of east coast of the island of Mull. This was a good location for us as we wished to visit both the north & south of the island. The property was comfortable & well fitted out for self catering. A helpful, responsive host.
