Canon Gate

we liked the accommodation and the location of the property.

we couldn't switch on a TV and one of the heaters in the bedroom was not working.

The property is amazing. It is beautifully decorated. Much better than the photos can show. The lounge is situated over the stone archway and has leaded lights. The apartment has all the amenities you need and the kitchen is well equipped. The 2 bedrooms are large and have their own TV in each room. The beds are comfy and there are ample electric radiators throughout the property which we had to turn off as it was warm. Canon Gate apartment was very impressive and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is in the Cathedral Grounds (the Cathedral s magnificent) right on the high street and within a 5 minute walk to the train station with regular trains to London, Brighton, Littlehampton, Portsmouth & Southampton. There are many individual shops (still open) on the high street and plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars to walk to. A Tesco Express is nearby to pick up anything you may need. All in all we had a 5 star stay and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

On arrival the layout of the property could have been explained a little better. As you drive under the archway the property is on the right hand side down a pathway and the Gate is on the right hand side. The gate to the property was VERY stiff. I was unable to open it so had to ring the emergency Canon Gate number and was told to push the gate very hard. I did this and got in, There are parking slots available in the lane outside the property. A map showing the spaces would be good as the blue paint marking the spaces has faded and is not immediately noticeable.

I was so surprised that the sitting room area was actually the archway to the cathedral area. So historic and beautifully appointed and designed to show the old beams and quaintness of such an old building. Everything you could possibly ask for. Main bedroom has lovely view of cathedral. Equipped kitchen, bathroom, second bedroom to the front .

Loved everything about the property. Suggestion for blackout blinds in front bedroom as there is a really bright light that shines in all night.

The partment was extremely spacious and facilities were excellent. It is right in the centre of the city which makes it an ideal location. And to top it all it is steeped in history.
