Apartment No 1 - The Old Red King Pub, Whitefield, Manchester

Great location for work, massive apartment with great facilities.

Only downside really was the ensuite bedroom needs redecorating. Wallpapers hanging off, water marks on the ceilings, dirty scuffed walls, bathroom door doesnt open properly etc. Not a deal breaker when travelling for work but if its more of a couple getaway you would be annoyed.

The property was perfectly located for the purpose our trip. It’s really spacious and bright. We couldn’t ask for any more. The hospitality hamper was brilliant! We had a small problem gaining access on arrival, and this swiftly sorted.

The corridor leading to the apartment is smelly and the scent diffuser need topping up.

We visited around the same time last year and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This time around, we only enjoyed certain aspects of our stay. The floors were beautiful, the location was excellent, and the breakfast hamper was a lovely touch. The apartment is conveniently located just a short walk to the tram, making trips to Manchester easy, and the allocated private parking space was a great bonus. While the overall cleanliness was acceptable, the bathrooms stood out as being particularly spotless and well-maintained.

The cleanliness during this stay fell short compared to our previous visit, especially in the kitchen. The kitchen walls were stained, and debris was visible behind the kitchen door. The extraction canopy and skirting boards were in need of a thorough clean, and the kitchen handles appeared grubby. There also seem to have been water-related issues, as some walls required attention and care. The main bedroom only had one frame hanging from the wall. The other frame was missing, but a nail was clearly visible on the wall. Additionally, there were no toiletries provided—only hair conditioner was available, which meant we had to purchase shower gel and shampoo separately. Unfortunately, given these issues, the apartment did not feel worth nearly £150 per night we were charged this time.

Extremely good value for money!The flat was spacious and very clean, also the welcome breakfast basket was a lovely touch! Everything we needed for our stay was catered for. Would highly recommend staying.
