The Retreat Studio

I stayed here whilst working for the weekend. It was very peaceful and I thoroughly enjoyed the Retreat.

This little property is privately tucked away in the countryside. We could hear the water from the stream when we were outdoors which was very relaxing .There was bread, butter, jam, milk, orange juice, waffles and Nutella in the property for us which I thought was a nice touch. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable we have ever had. The host was really friendly with messages before and during our stay. We would definitely recommend this place.

As we were there in winter months some outdoor lighting would be good to help navigate the steps to the studio.

Location was excellent, cosy and quiet.

Unfortunately found the double bed too small and wife had allergy issues with feather filled duvet and pillows.

It was in a quiet area, shame the damn humidifier had to be on all night as below.

**Review: BUYER BEWARE** I wish I could leave zero stars for this disastrous rental property. From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear that cleanliness and maintenance were not priorities for the owner. The property was *filthy*. Used band-aids were left behind, the BBQ was disgusting and unusable, and there was a spider infestation that made staying there unbearable. The furniture was broken and unsafe, and the toilet was not even secured to the ground, constantly leaking and posing both a sanitary and safety hazard. To make matters worse, a dehumidifier was running full-time due to severe damp issues. The property owner claimed it wasn’t necessary to have it on constantly, but it was extracting gallons of water every single day—proof that the property has serious moisture problems. The conditions were so unacceptable that we cut our 12-day stay short after just 3 miserable nights. Despite providing detailed evidence in writing and with photos, neither Booking.com nor my credit card company took action to resolve the issue. This lack of accountability compounded an already horrendous experience.

Lots of lovely little extras on arrival

Lovely decor comfy bed ,little touches like bread ,fresh milk and juice .. everything covered in information leaflets. Little intro sheet to introduce the family was cute too. I was given total privacy,which is what I was looking for to sit and sketch relaxing few days had everything I needed

Toilet was small ,I have very long les . . Apart from that it was great .

Location for working in town was perfect 7 minutes away

Nothing to say can’t really fault it

Couldn't fault the property or the host, the property was so peaceful and private I could of honestly stayed forever. Everything thought of in the lay out and facilities not to mention a lovely welcoming food pack which I was very grateful for as it was an emergency visit to the area and I was not prepared.

I honestly cannot fault anything regarding this property or the host, if I could off stayed longer I would have, unfortunately it was already booked again so had to go to a hotel for a few days.
