Cathedral apartment

This flat is in a house that's so disgusting I left without seeing the flat. You're greeted by a filthy hallway and a sign warning you not to take drugs or loiter. Totally unsafe. Booking.com and flat owner happy to take the money while accepting no responsibility for the horrible state of this property. S2

So thoughtful to have the heating on, light on and curtains drawn for my evening arrival. It added to the homely feel about the place. Appreciated the little stock of oil, salt, herbs etc in the kitchen cupboard, the map and guide left out and the start of a library to leave and borrow books. The instructions in the apartment were clear, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen really was well equipped with a good mug, a vegetable peeler, grater and there was even some shower gel in the bathroom. The host was also available for my misunderstanding and access to my email to get check-in instructions.

Although clean-ish, there was a need to do a bit more dusting in the bedroom, the kettle and light switches and fridge handle needed a wipe over, freezer defrosting and I was expecting some hand-sanitiser somewhere (although hand soap was available). I would've appreciated a hand towel in the bathroom, and there was an alarm that kept going off at the front door. The walls are thin and there appeared to be an odour of cigarettes near one of the bedrooms, possibly from a neighbour or previous guest (heads up for any asthmatics etc). Access to a full length mirror, more hooks in the bathroom and a welcome book would be great additions.

The location was so central it couldn't have been closer, the street it was on was lovely and when the heating was on the place warmed up very quickly. Very convenient, neat and tidy. Perfectly spacious for two people.

The internet didn't work in the bedroom. The neighbour left the front door on the latch even when you closed it which was a little concerning. The master bedroom was a little damp so we had to keep the heating on most of the time. There weren't any plugs beside the bed.

Location was great, bed really comfortable. Good for what it was needed for

Place was freezing and when put on heating took ages to heat. Not the owners fault but people in the apartments upstairs very loud and running around till 2am.
