City Centre Penthouse Apartment

Ideally located for our visit including the metro for a trip into Newcastle. Apartment, well furnished with all amenities. Fabulous view across the city, river and out to sea. Secure parking underneath the building.

Central location with easy access to public transport and within walking distance of most attractions. Parking was a plus. Perfect for families.

Vertical blinds let in a lot of light in the morning.

Superficially the apartment was very nice with views over the city and the sea. The furnishings and the kitchen were modern and it was close to the city centre. There was secure parking.

The cleanliness was not what we expected for it to classed as a luxury penthouse. The freezer was unusable, completely choked with ice so the door wouldn’t shut. The oven was filthy with burnt food stuck to the shelves. The dishwasher absolutely stank. The washer was in use being used to wash towels. The surfaces and the toilets had had a cursory wipe leaving them still dirty. None of the bedding had been ironed. The toaster was full of stale crumbs and wasn’t clean enough to use. There was only one cooking knife and the blade of that was broken. According to the local newspaper these apartments when initially purchased were termed luxury and were priced accordingly now they sell for £60k and a lot are used for social housing and the local vice industry. The whole block looks decidedly tired and is not being properly maintained by the management company.

Central location and fact had an en-suite and separate bathroom. Good views of city from 10th floor. Secure underground parking all very convenient.
