The Snug

We were s/c but there is good access to Tesco supermarket 10 min drive or more choice in nearby Barnstaple. The snug was really cosy and the extra large bed so comfy. Our little dog loved playing in the orchard and we even came away with some apples. This place is a little gem and our hosts were extremely kind and helpful even carrying our luggage due to us both having limited mobility, we would definitely stay here again

The weather 🤣, though it did improve towards the end of the week and it didn’t stop us getting out and about

The location was ideal for exploring the local area. The views of the countryside were beautiful. Our dog loved chasing his ball in the apple tree orchard.

The one car width roads were a bit scary, especially if you get lost. The living area was a bit cramped and the settee uncomfortable.

We arrived to find two freshly baked scones on the side, a tub of roddas clotted cream & a pint of milk in the fridge. Then Chris popped by to say hello with a still warm loaf of bread, delicious.

Nothing, it was all good.

It was quaint, very peaceful and extremely clean and well thought out.

It had everything for us to self cater. Appreciated the fresh bread eggs and scones on arrival.

Auto light in the toilet, very bright for a night visit.

The Snug has everything you need for a stay in Devon. It is compact but everything in it is to a high standard and very well maintained. It is set in beautiful grounds and is handily placed for all the many attractions that North Devon has to offer. It also has the biggest bed immediately have ever slept in! A return next year is highly likely.

The Snug was homely, exceptionally clean and warm. The addition of the games room was a lovely touch and the surrounding grounds were beautiful and wonderfully dog friendly. Chris & Carol were warm, friendly, very accommodating and welcoming. The welcome pack of eggs, milk, bread and a cream tea on arrival was a lovely thought and made us feel at home immediately, so much so we ended up staying another night 😁

There was nothing to dislike about the whole experience and we will be recommending The Pines to our family and friends.
