The Bungaloaf

It’s a very cute and quaint little granny annexe. It was a comfortable place to stay and the food that was provided for breakfast was a lovely touch, including cereal, muffins, fruit and juice. We were generously allowed to check out late for free, since the accommodation was not booked for the night following our stay, which meant a lot (we were taking part in a sporting event and this offered us time to return, shower and change for our journey home). The property is conveniently located for access to Aintree race course.

Just a few small niggles: there is no internet, which is inconvenient. The place was reasonably clean, but some areas (dining table and chairs, windowsills, behind the sofa) clearly haven’t been attended to for a while. The bathroom door does not close properly… there were times that it took two of us to get it open. The shower controls are so stiff that it is impossible to change the temperature… we couldn’t get it below scalding. Despite the fact that there were three people staying, we were provided only two sets of towels. And I’m not convinced that the bedding for the sofa bed had been laundered since its last use.

we liked the fact it was off the main road and the owner’s children were a delight and made our little girl feel ever so welcome..

There wasn’t anything not too like clean tidy and spacious, super accommodating

I liked how homely it felt and how we were greeted with a smile and a welcome basket we only stayed for one night but wished we stayed longer

The woman was so lovely on arrival and super helpful.. completely accommodated my partner and our kids! you can see it’s well taken care of it’s also nice and quite definitely no complaints and will be coming again.

There isn’t anything not to like it’s a lovely property to stay in.

Perfect location for what we wanted to do. The Bungaloaf is absolutely spotless and just perfect. The host has thought of everything to make it a very easy hassle free, enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend.

We loved how clean and tidy it was, and they provided us with a great selection of food in the morning as well, which was a nice touch. If we visit this way we will stay here again.

We were late to the time of arrival we gave them when we booked it. However, on the journey, we did keep in touch with them to tell them our travel updates. Our journey should have taken around 1.5 hours but ended up taking over 3 due to so many traffic jams and lane closures. I was already stressed and upset about arriving late, and when we did finally arrive, we was expecting a "hi, how was your journey" or "Hi, hope you're ok" but he just said "you're late" and looked pretty annoyed at us, which did upset me, especially when the messages we received back from them were lovely and made me feel like the lateness wasn't a problem.
