Super clean and comfortable

Mattresses weren't very comfortable

Location was great

Beds were filthy. Mattress protectors were stained & were covered in hairs. Blood stains on pillow cases. Spare duvets in press also stained and dirty. Contacted Joivy, sent pictures,spare duvet sent out on 2nd day. With the promise of deep clean on beds. But when we returned. No cleaning was done. Very unhappy with the apartment.

The location was great.

The stairwell to the apartment was littered with junk mail, The front door stuck so much so that I did not believe it was unlocked. I had to through my whole weight into the door to open it. Once open it would stick closing and not lock the door. The beds were cheap and uncomfortable. The lights in the living room area all had pain rips around them. It looks like damage from changing light bulbs. The four of us were only given one set of towels each for 9 day stay If you chose to wash the towels, the clothes washer took over 8 hours to complete a washing and dry of them. There was no dish towel, and we had to buy our own soap for the washer. The ice maker was filled with mold. Overall this felt like it was run down and ran cheaply. I would NOT stay here again.

The living area is very pleasant and spacious. There are an exceptional number of kitchen facilities and the room is comfortable and relaxing.

The quality of the beds and bedding was very poor, particularly the two single beds. There was a lot of rubbish between the two when they were separated into two singles and it had obviously not been cleaned for some time. The beds were very uncomfortable and unpleasant to spend the night on. Unfortunately, this is obviously a key factor in the overall rating. It was a real shame as the living area, as mentioned above, was very pleasant. A more minor annoyance was completely losing the TV signal due to the rain.

Location is great, also, use of door codes means no need for keys which is a bonus.

This place has all the makings of a great stay, the owner could take this place from passable to fantastic with limited effort. New mattresses needed in both rooms. Tv, major issue, no smart connectivity and DVD player only (with no DVDs). Dipping shower needs attention. Creaky floor not a deal breaker but is a feature to have to endure.

Good response to our call for check-in instructions. Light and airy room. Towel heater. Pretty good location to Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile.

Steep stairs between the levels. Not too good for those with limited mobility.
