Melbury

Lovely place, lovely people, hope to stay there again.

The road is in a very poor state of repair, so if you have a low sports car, approach from the North end of the road.! Clearly outside the control of anyone but the Council. Generally the surface of roads in and around West Sussex is very poor for motorcycles or sports cars which is a pity given these roads traverse such a beautiful county.

This place is a little gem. It's close to Cranleigh, Godalming and Guildford to be a short car drive but just rural enough to be peaceful and quiet and unlike many other places in Surrey it is very good value. The hosts are warm and friendly and seemed to have really thought about their guests experience from the little welcome folder with honest reviews of the local places to spare socks and toiletries and even some milk and goodies in the kitchen. The bed was so comfy with beautifully soft pillows and some very comfy throws. My daughter is autistic and really struggles being in a different environment and meeting new people but as the space was accessed independently to the main house she found it easy to come and go without having to engage with strangers which is why staying a hotel can be difficult for us. I would definitely recommend Melbury and it's on our list of places to stay again.

On a purely personal note I would really appreciate a coffee machine. I rely on caffeine and missed my morning pod. Also I wasn't sure if I should put any food in a separate bin bag or if there were seperate recycling facilities so maybe a little food bin for scraps?

Warm welcome apartment excellent of a high standard

Full size kitchen with everything you need and table and chairs. Lovely comfy bed. Spacious area to sit with 2 chairs. Beautiful garden to sit out and enjoy the evening or dinner. Great shower too. Hosts are lovely and very accommodating if you need anything.

Lovely setting great hosts enjoyed everything

Very peaceful location. Spotless clean throughout. The bed was very large and comfortable .Thank you to Marion for the milk, biscuits, tea and coffee left for us on arrival. Also thank you for letting us come a little early on our first day as we were going to a music festival in Alfold. We will definitely be back next year.

As we were taking a picnic out everyday. Perhaps a freezer dept in the fridge would have been useful . So we could freeze the freeze blocks in.

I always like staying here (which I do a couple of times a year), as the location is lovely, also very convenient for visiting various friends in the area. Also, it's nice and spacious and has good facilities for self-catering, if required. Nice downstairs shower room.
