The Upper Bakery

Very light and airy. Everywhere clean. Lovely comfy bed and duvet.

A little too many personal items around, I felt like I was in someone's home particularly in the bathroom where there was a lot of half used products. There was nowhere for us to put our own products. The owner has gone above and beyond to provide everything that might be needed and a lot of thought has gone into making her guests feel welcome.

The apartment was equipped with everything you could think of and need. Clean and tidy. Met Annette briefly and she was very friendly and welcoming. Great location to base yourself to explore north Norfolk.

Not a problem for us but just to keep in mind that it’s about a 1.8km walk into Cromer proper. We found a nice walk to the lighthouse and then along the coast into the town. Also there are stairs leading up to the apartment but they are carpeted and with a handrail and personally I didn’t find them very steep.

The location was ideal. 20 mins walk into town. The apartment had everything you could want for a short stay.

Being woken up at 7am on my last day by builders erecting scaffolding against the building.

The flat is perfect, self-contained, everything was provided that would be needed for a short or long stay. If there's a single need you can think of, our host Annette catered for it. Coffee machine in the bedroom, milk and bottled water in the fridge, hair dryer and straighteners, even a fabulous air con unit to use in any room we wished.

Nothing. Everything was fab.

The location was excellent. We did a lot of walking along the coast paths between Clay Next the Sea and Wells and the use of buses allowed us to do linear walks (No need to walk back to a car). Although we didnt know it at the time of booking the CH2 bus for Cromer stopped just a few yards away and sometimes the same bus changed to a CH1 at Cromer and served all stops to Wells next the Sea. The X44 stopped in Mill Road (A 5 minute walk) and covered routes to Sherringham and Norwich. This made the Upper Bakery an ideal location. On-road car parking was easy. Flat 3 was excellent and provided everything one could wish for. The layout was spacious, comfortable and spotless.

These are minor points The TV in the lounge seemed to have a mind of its own at times as did the radio. This was probably because we were not used to operating these models. A folder with the operating instructions for all the various appliances would be useful. An extra saucepan in the kitchen would also have been useful.
