New Forest Spacious 2 bed flat

Spacious 2 bed apartment , location is exactly in the middle of the New Forest!

Few steps inside the apartment and central heating not working properly! Wi-Fi a bit on and off!

Wonderful place to stay and perfect for families! Flat above pub is great – modern, spacious, clean and has everything you may need in a beautiful and peaceful location. The pub is gorgeous with a nice traditional vibe and the food is fantastic – seriously good! Mel & Nick who manage everything are just lovely people with a warm welcome and happy to help out with anything and everything. Plenty of space for parking and has an impressive play area for kids. Overall, we had a special few days in the New Forest staying at The Sir Walter Tyrrell and would love to go back there again!

Really spacious accommodation over a pub that looks onto beautiful New Forest views, perfect for star gazing at night. The kitchen was really well equipped inc. hob, oven and fridge freezer. Breakfast was provided in the apartment in advance including bread, jams, cereals, yoghurts, milk, tea/coffee and fruit. The location was stunning, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but Lyndhurst is just a 10min drive away. The pub closes at 9pm so no evening noise at all, best sleep I've had in ages. Good shower, clean towels and bedding (all smelt lovely and fresh). Pub food was excellent, and service super quick. It's a little pricey but in line with other restaurants in the area. Nice big pub garden and camping area at the back. Friendly staff. There were 4 of us staying aging between 21 and 82 (four generations) and we all had a lovely stay. Thank you for your hospitality. We would definitely come back again (for longer next time!)

Only one small thing...there are a couple of steps throughout the apartment (due to the age of the building). One mid-hall and another when entering one of the bedrooms. We did have a few slips and trips when not paying proper attention, or if getting up in the night. Would be good if these steps were more obvious i.e. a colourful strip could highlight these just as a reminder they are there. Other than this no complaints at all.

Very comfy and well utilized kitchen. It is amazing to stay right in the middle of the forest with horses under the windows.

The breakfast can be improved with some eggs, cheese, vegetables

We really enjoyed the value-for-money of the place, especially in terms of location and the facilities. The owners were lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. We would definitely come back if we holidayed here again.

Everything was absolutely amazing. The place is beautiful, the view from the flat is stunning. You get ponies, horses, cows etc grazin all day long. The flat is great, it really is spacious. We were only 2 but its perfect for a big family or few friends as well. Very comfy bed and sofa as well. Super clean and well equipped even if you want to actually cook. For breakfast you get a stocked up fridge and options of cereals, perfect for what we wanted. We had an absolutely great time. The pub has really nice food and although we arrived a bit past the kitchens closing time Mel was so kind to sort dinner for us even so. If you can make sure to stay for sunday roast and live music! The pub closes at 9 so don't have to worry about noise at all. All staff are very kind and the host, Mel is super! We really didnt want to leave. The location is perfect for exploring Newforest. We will be back in October.

There was nothing we didnt like everything was just perfect.

Breakfast items had been left in the apartment - cereals, milk, fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread, jam etc. Location excellent, lovely views out onto forest. Good play area. Ate in restaurant both night, food very good. Helpful staff. Pub closed at 9pm so no noise. Good location for exploring and visiting New Forest Wildlife Park and Furzey Gardens, both loved by 2 year old grand-daughter.
