Insufficient cutlery drinking glasses and table mats. 2 teaspoons, 4 wine glasses one of which was chipped and only 2 table mats. Smoke alarm not working along with the wall clock. Some of the lightbulbs were not functioning and need replacing. Obviously no-one seems to be checking the finer detail.

For us the location is excellent.... very quiet.

We booked very late, on a Sunday evening, yet the owner still allowed the booking to go-ahead. We checked in around midnight via key-lock-safe. The owner came by the following morning with complimentary refreshments, very polite, very friendly and very hospitable. Our first thoughts upon arrival was the lodge’s cleanliness and spaciousness. Each room was aesthetically pleasing, warm, cosy and relaxing. The beds were extremely comfortable alongside the corner sofa. Everything you need for a short stay is available. You can quite literally cook anything in the kitchen because the owner provided culinary equipment in abundance. Little touches made our last-minute trip extra enjoyable: privacy, internet, books, board games, wrap-around veranda, outdoor seating accommodation, nearby park and secluded zone for dogs to run freely, safely and off the lead.

Due to the location, amenities were not within walking distance; however there is a small shop on-sight that stocks cupboard products, not fresh produce.

This is a beautiful holiday home with all the amenities you would need for a fun family get away in The South Hams. We are regular visitors to the area and have rented all sorts of properties in the past, but this one really hits the mark. We have a grown up family but the three bedrooms , two bathrooms work well for a comfortable stay. The big open plan living space and terrace make for a great social space and is beautifully appointed. There is a bbq which we cooked our fresh mackerel on that we caught that day (yes I am showing off). Jo, the owner, is really friendly and helpful going the extra mile to help with local advice and access to amenities. The location is great for local beaches and access to Salcombe, Hope Cove and the surrounding villages. All in all, we will not be looking any further for future stays and look forward to our next visit.
