The Old House, Llwyn Madoc

Amazing place in an isolated but beautiful estate. Clean, comfortable, and well equipped. On two levels. Highly recommended for someone who wishes to enjoy the countryside or romantic getaway. Plenty of activities within 60 min drive. Would love to come back again.

That the stay had to end.

The Old House is situated in a beautiful green valley surrounded by ancient oak forest, sheep and lots of bird life. The house itself is of an older rustic style and full of charm. Bedrooms are roomy with good quality bedding, firm beds and also good storage. The kitchen is spacious with excellent cookware and a large table for a big group to enjoy social meals. The house is split over 2 floors with rooms and bathrooms off two long corridors, it really is a wonderful space for a larger group or a family and feels very homely. The sitting room is also large and comfortable. Walks in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are only a short drive away but there are many nearby walks as well. The grounds surrounding the main house are beautiful. It is very peaceful at all times of day and we woke to the sounds of so many different birds. The WiFi was very good and the TV allows access to streaming services. We'd love to return one day and perhaps make use of the tennis court. The Old House is a good find and highly recommended!

Supply of a few more toiletries would be helpful. We didn't bring many ourselves as it is advertised that they are provided. This is not a major issue but something to consider!
