The Arcadian, Birmingham City Centre, by Lark Accommodation Cosy 1-bedroom Flat

Location was fantastic. In its day, this flat would have been awesome, but needs a bit of TLC.

Finding the access door was awkward. The directions named a restaurant that has changed names so was confusing. The apartment smelt a bit funny and needed a deep clean. Mirrors were all quite dirty, lots of dust on windows and ledges, plus the kitchen floor needed a bit of a sweep and mop. Place felt a bit tired. No soap in the shower dispensers, had to use hand-wash to clean myself.

The security staff were amazing: really helpful & friendly. We didn't see anyone on reception at all. The security guys told us they weren't part of the Reception Team. The bed was really comfortable.

The balcony was a little dirty: hadn't been swept. Not all crockery/glassware/cutlery were clean although the apartment itself was. There was nothing to dry up with.

Apartment was clean and spacious and lots of good features. The location it's in is usually busy and loud but the apartment was nice so and quiet

Key didn't work twice so had to get the security guy to help the second time, who was good about it but the key really needs sorting as its very frustrating having to go back down to get it sorted. The corridor to the apartments have stained old carpets which isn't the tenants fault but it really made me feel like this was going to be a bad idea...but the apartment itself was lovely and very comfy

Excellent stay, great location, very clean and great hosts.

The size of the apartment and the location.

Finding the Reception, which, according to the address, was 70 Hurst Street. I found 70 Hurst Street, which is the Dragon Inn, a Wetherspoons pub. They had no idea. I phoned the contact number, which turned out to belong to a lady who spoke very little English. However, she text me an alternative, which got me through to the reception, which turned out to be in the middle of the Arcadian Centre, not on Hurst Street at all. Getting back to the apartment late at night to find the room key didn't work. Staff on reception were lovely, but it was a faff I could have done without.
