Gorgeous 2 bedroom 2 bathroom Woolwich

DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY IT IS S SCAM. When you book this property the owner will contact you some time before with an excuse such as maintenance that cannot be conducted until the next week (LIE) and will offer to put you into a different property. This is consistent among many reviews of this property and I am a fool for not catching on to that sooner. The property in the picture and the listed address does not exist (or is either not actually owned by this person). After informing them that the new place wasn’t acceptable and I would like a refund they proceeded to ignore my messages and even ignored messages from booking.com themselves. I informed the booking.com support that I would be reporting this property and the owner to Action Fraud as at this point the scam was obvious (this was not an empty threat, I have reported this property and owner to Action Fraud and other appropriate authorities). Only after informing booking.com of this did I get a cancellation and a refund, though this was done by booking.com themselves and not the property owner. I am shocked and appalled that booking.com continue to allow this property to be listed despite the obvious scam.

The flat was easy to get into. It had 2 beds and 2 bathrooms as advertised.

It was not the property we booked. We booked this in October for December and the key thing was location and parking. On the day we were driving from Scotland, Alexander the host, called us to say the flat was not available, no reason proffered. This was 1.45pm and we were on the road at 4pm. He offered us a different flat, nowhere near easy transport links for someone who is unfamiliar with London and no reserved parking, which was the entire reason we had booked the flat. Despite it having gated parking we had to find a space on the road which was not easy. This led to it being a very stressful experience as we arrived late at night. Alexander also had no pictures of the interior so although I complained to Booking.com they seemed to be unable to assure me they would have somewhere that could accommodate our car so we felt we had no choice but to take the alternative flat. Once into the flat it was clear that maintenance was non existent. The towels provided were damp. The flat was not clean with rubbish on the floor that had not been swept up. One of the showers would not go hot, due to a broken fitting, so was not able to be used. Mirrors were cracked, there was a hole in the bathroom floor, beading had come of the floor exposing floor covering which did not meet the wall. I could not open the window in the bedroom and the handle to the living room patio window was hanging off. There were tiny black bugs crawling in the bathroom and kitchen (I have video of this). The fridge's door compartment had a huge hole in it, I was expecting basic for the price but this was unacceptable. I have given this a 3 as the beds were clean and I slept well,

It's spacious, bathrooms and toilets were clean. Close to the train station.

The only thing that we didn't like was the smell of cigarettes in the house.I have two young children which was not good for them.

Our rented apartment(Conf.No.6955443626) was cancelled 3 hours before check-in, which affected our family financially and emotionally.If Booking.com accept private landlords, should establish stricter rules for them. Canceling an apartment at the last minute and getting a refund for that apartment only weeks later is the worst thing that can happen to a traveling tourist. When I called the private host, he didn't even apologize for canceling the apartment 3 hours before check-in.
