Stargazy Shepherds Hut

No toaster!

We decided to stay for an additional night after booking our original booking and we are really glad we did. It gave us the opportunity to explore more of Cornwall including driving down to Land’s End and up to Newquay. The hut is beautifully put together inside and homely. It’s really different from staying in a hotel in a good way, as it’s quiet and snug and there’s just something really wonderful about being tucked away somewhere especially while it was torrential rain at night. For the cost and the location (free parking and no charges for the dog) you couldnt ask for more, the host is super friendly and lovely and the dog friendly element ticks all the boxes for me, including leaving a blanket and bowls out for pooch. After breakfast we both found it difficult to get motivated to go out as we were so comfy we just wanted to stay wrapped up in bed all day!

Nothing I would 100% rebook if we are in the area again :)

The location was perfect, a 10 minute walk to Carbis Bay beach! We liked how snug and homely the hut was and how easy it was to check into it. The host stayed in touch and was very accommodating too. The bed is super comfy, we slept the best we have in a long time and the TV has Netflix so you can log into it. It’s really quiet in the area the hut is in all we heard was the sound of the wind and rain which was so calming given how warm and cosy you feel inside. I loved the train memorabilia for the toilet roll holder and tea towel holder, and the host left some Buck’s Fizz and chocolates for us, it was such a lovely stay. The doggie loved the comfy blanket left out for her, the bowls too was an added touch. The host has done a really great job of making it homely inside including books etc. Thank you for a lovely stay! If you’re looking for something a little different to your usual hotel stay give a homely little hut a try, you won’t regret it :)

I read in the reviews someone said that a toaster would be good and I agree, I would also use the space to add more shelves that could hold more plates and the tea coffee etc, giving more worktop space.

Would have liked a toaster or microwave but appreciate space is limited. Didn’t spoil our stay.

Emplacement OK

Logement exigu (déconseillé pour les personnes de forte corpulence ou de grande taille). Déco encombrante (casque de scaphandrier) mais rien de pratique comme des crochets pour accrocher les serviettes de toilette dans la salle d'eau. Aucun accueil personnalisé alors que la propriétaire habite à côté. Dommage.

Not a lot it just worked

It was so sweet when we arrived, the keys were easy to find and the host had left loads of information around about the town and the hut. Thank you for having us, he loved it.

It was sooooo snug, loved the quirky diver's helmet lamp, the fairy lights over the bed, and the underfloor heating was amazing. The bed was very comfy and I slept solidly all night. Excellent communication from the host in advance, a lovely message to make sure I was in okay and had all I needed

There is nothing in the hut not to like as far as I'm concerned. I had just walked 18 miles of the coast path, so finding the hut meant walking up another bl**dy hill - but that was my problem, not the host's! :-D
