Beds were fairly comfy. Upstairs shower was great.

Musty smell noticeable when you first enter. Stair carpet very dirty. Not convinced bed linen had been changed. Not enough comfy seating for 4 people let alone 6. Only 4 wine glasses. Kitchen needed a deep clean. Fridge very unhygienic, door shelves dirty, one contained water for drinking. How long had it been there? Bottom, milk shelf, dirty. Oven and grill pan not cleaned, melted cheese? on oven door. Kettle had water in it, again for how long? Toenail clippings beside the bed in upstairs bedroom next to shower room. Cleaner needs training or owner should check their work. Wick is very rundown where the apartment is. Worst thing was on the last morning I fell on bottom stair, its a stupid size, hurting my ankle and back. Unfortunately we won't be returning, the photos do not tell the true story.

We actually stayed in the hosts 2-bed apartment as he contacted us about a week before we were due to arrive to say he had damage at his 3-bed which wouldn't be fixed in time. However, he offered us his 2-bed which worked fine for us as we were provided an additional bed. The 2-bed apartment was a really lovely property located in the centre of Wick. It has been refurbished to a really high standard and looks just like the photo's. The kitchen was a good size and had lots of utensils and cutlery, and there was a vacuum cleaner which was useful. There is a great place for breakfast on the High Street 'Morags' and a gorgeous Italian restaurant 'Devitas' all within a 2 minute walk which was perfect.

It was quite noisy due to location (not the owners fault) and could do with a deep clean and some fittings were a bit worn (toilet seat needed tightening, shower door not flush).

The flat had been recently refurbished and was in great condition. The location was central.

It would have been helpful to have the key code sooner, as we were travelling and not sure how easy it would be to receive emails. It would have been useful to know exactly how to find the front door (as part of the arrival instructions). In English rental properties we have always found an information sheet explaining how recycling works and how to adjust the heating. We arrived in the snow and it would have been nice if the flat had been pre-warmed. The place was mostly beautifully clean, but there were toothpaste splatters on one bathroom mirror and wall. Little natural light in the kitchen/living area.
