Sterna Apartment

No parking place. It was difficult to reach the property if you have family and baby stroller from the center. It’s too close but difficult to reach.

Good location

The management of the property was not very flexible or accomodating. They did not allow us to leave our luggage at the property prior to check in. Instead they advised us to leave at an alternative location which was closed from 1pm to 6pm. We were basically stranded outside in the scorching midday sun for 4 hours. Absolutely ridiculous

Location

There was no parking available even though there was enough space outside the house. The road is terrible, we almost destroyed our suitcases. All the sockets are british and not EU, only 3 adaptors on the flat and one of then was not working. Very annoying being in Greece and not having EU sockets. Staff was not helpful at all, self checkin and checkout, no info about anything regarding the island. Everything very expensive for what it was.

Amazing central location. 15-20 min walk from Paxos port, right in the centre of Gaios and a few minutes to the harbour

There was no early check in available or nowhere to leave baggage whilst waiting for check in. There’s a few minutes steep walk to the apartment which I wouldn’t recommended for the elderly or for those with impaired mobility. But the place is still worth it for the central location

The biggest highlight of the room is how clean it was, the cleaning staff made an excellent effort keeping the apartment spotless. Also the apartment offers a very comfortable and king size bed. In general we didnt meet the staff (you pick up the keys on your own) but they were very responsive to our emails and requests. The house has a nice view and is around 2 minutes walking distance from the town of Gaios. It is up on a steep hill but its total distance is short (we managed to walk from the port with our hand luggage). Just make sure you follow the shortcut with the steps and don't go from the road used by the cars (there it is indeed very steep).

The worst part of our stay was the 20+ year old A/C that made a noise like a broken car motor. The A/C is very old and has been patched with a big amount of duct tape just to keep it in place from shaking. We mentioned that to the staff and they said they will look into it, I am not sure if they did but the A/C kept making the same noise throughout all our stay (I have video with proof). The A/C made such a loud noise that was impossible to get any decent sleep and for the last 2 nights I had to sleep in the sofa in the living room. That is completely unacceptable for a room that costs close to 150e per night. The worst part is that guests have been complaining since 1+ year for the noisy A/C (see older reviews) and the owners have still not replace it. I would say dont bother staying here unless theý completely replace the A'/C (and not patch it with more duct tape), especially if you are looking for a good night's sleep. For some strange reason the house uses UK electric plugs (first time I see it in Greece) and there were only a couple of EU adaptors in place so we constantly had to plug/unplug our devices. The wifi was very slow and unusable at times especially when all the guests were at their rooms. When it was working it was only usable in the living room area.

Excellent position at 2 minutes walking distance from Gaios center and with great view from the balcony on Gaios marina
